Big news for seniors in the Elk Valley! 🚐 We’re launching a transportation program to help seniors stay connected and enjoy more of what our region has to offer, and our first three trips are now confirmed! This program is funded by Columbia Basin Trust and delivered by United Way BC, with a mission to reduce social isolation and remove barriers to getting out and about for seniors across the Basin. Locally, it’s brought to life through a partnership between Elk Valley Better at Home, the Seniors’ Drop-In Centers in Fernie and Sparwood and Tunnel49. And here’s the best part : these events are chosen by the seniors in our community. Earlier this year we surveyed 70 members of our community to ask what they actually wanted to do and see, and every trip on this schedule reflects that feedback. This is truly a community-built program, and there is more to come. Take a look at the full schedule below and join us!
