World Rivers Day includes walking tours.

Celebrate World Rivers Day at River Landing!

Join us and other local organizations on Sunday, September 27, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. for a free afternoon of river science, history, art, and community.

World Rivers Day is a global celebration of the waterways that sustain our ecosystems and communities. Here in the Meewasin Valley, the South Saskatchewan River is the spine of our city, supporting wildlife, connecting communities, and shaping our landscapes.

Celebrate the South Saskatchewan River through interactive exhibits, science demonstrations, guided tours, family activities, and opportunities to connect with organizations working to understand, protect, and celebrate our waterways.

Meewasin will be offering guided walking tours exploring the history, significance, and evolving relationship between Saskatoon and the South Saskatchewan River. Tours depart from River Landing at 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Plans this Sunday? How about spending some time with the Saskatoon Heritage Society and take a stroll with Terry Hoknes and other explorers and take in some history on 33rd Street. If you have yet to take in one of these educational walks join in this Sunday. Bring water, take pictures and dress for the weather!

Cathy was a driver behind Jane's Walk Saskatoon. Friends of Jane's Walk invited.

Save the date: Tuesday, September 8, 2026. 😞

Join us that day for the 6th Annual Cathy Watts Memorial Slow Roll.

Cathy was a tireless cycling advocate and chair/co-chair of Saskatoon Cycles for years. The memory of her energy and passion still offer inspiration when we look at the state of cycling in our city, whether we're progressing or stalled.

We try to honour Cathy's spirit and grit to this day, and always hope that she'd be proud of the work we continue to do: making cycling safer and more accessible to all, every day of the year.

Join us for this memorial ride; we'll gather outside for a 5:30PM departure, and cycle a route that we think Cathy would appreciate.

If you can't make the ride but would like to honour the "happy agitator" and "biking gramma", we take donations all the time.
