🤩ORH Heroes - Together We Thrive🤩
The Ottawa Rotary Home exists to improve the lives of caregivers and individuals with disabilities and it's people like Siman who remind us of our mission but also push us to be the very best we can be. Siman joined us for our Children's Overnight Respite Program was she was 11 years old. Fast forward 13 years and we are so privileged to see the woman she has become. Siman shares "When I was younger, I loved coming to Rotary with my friends because it meant we got to have sleepovers — and we absolutely loved that! We would get in to a lot of trouble together (the fun kind), and the staff were always there to help and support us. It was such a fun and unforgettable time. I also love meeting new people. I feel like every time I come to visit, I meet someone new, which makes each experience even more special. When I’m at Rotary, I feel a little more independent with my care, and I truly love that. It gives me confidence and makes me feel more empowered." Thank you Siman for allowing us to be a part of your journey ⭐️

🌟 - Celebrating the Heartbeat of Our Community 🌟 🌟 Meet Shauna🌟Shauna is an incredible Registered Practical Nurse who joined our team last year. Shauna has shown time and time again her dedication to the individuals we support and has even expanded into our Community Nursing Program. Shauna shares "I have spent most of my nursing career working in geriatrics, and I had no idea just how fun a job could be until joining ORH. I get to meet different people every week and I learn something new from each person that stays with us. It's a privilege to get to know and create joy for each of our clients, and seeing them smile is my favourite part of the day!" We are so lucky to have found Shauna, she is making a huge impact on the entire ORH community. Thank you, Shauna!

🌟 - Celebrating the Heartbeat of Our Community 🌟 🌟 Meet Abby🌟We welcomed Abby to our team in 2025 and in such a short time, she has made incredible strides at ORH. Abby shows tremendous dedication to the people that she supports and works hard to involve them in our community. "I’ve had such a positive experience working at the Rotary Home as a 1:1 support care counsellor. After moving to Ottawa from a small town, I felt immediately welcomed by the ORH team, whose friendliness and support made the transition easy. Working in his program has been a lot of fun—since starting in May, we’ve attended a music festival and numerous Sens NHL games, and he’s taught me so much about hockey and other sports. Rotary offers so many great opportunities, and the management team consistently goes above and beyond to make meaningful and fun experiences possible, making this role truly rewarding and enjoyable." Thank you Abby for all you've brought to ORH, we are a better team with you in it!

✨Happy New Year! ✨✨ORH had a busy holiday season including celebrating our lovely Melanie's birthday, our Adult Day Program making a generous donation to Shepherds of Good Hope of personal supplies and winter clothing, a very competitive door decorating contest and some serious Holiday Spirit. We hope you all are ready for 2026, we can't wait to see what is has in store for us!
