**STATEMENT**

[WINNIPEG, May 4] - Ron East, organizer of the pro-Israel rally scheduled to take place at City Hall at noon today, issues the following statement regarding the cancellation of the event:

"I regret to inform the attendees and supporters of the pro-Israel rally that it has been cancelled due to police advisement. I was personally informed that my presence at the event could result in my potential arrest, leading to the decision to cancel the rally out of concern for the safety and well-being of all involved.

This pressure was directed towards me individually, rather than towards the counter-protest or the rally itself. It appears that my involvement would have necessitated a significant allocation of police resources, which was deemed undesirable by law enforcement authorities.

Furthermore, I am deeply troubled by the implications of this situation on my basic rights to free assembly and free speech. In light of this, I am actively seeking legal advice to ensure that my rights are protected and upheld.

I appreciate the understanding and support of all those who were planning to attend the rally, and I remain committed to advocating for the principles and values that the pro-Israel rallies represent.

We will rally again soon!!!”
