Edmonds People in Community (EPIC) is a Residents Association in Burnaby, British Columbia. They envision a community that is connected, caring, and nurturing for all. Through various outreach programs and events, they encourage a stronger community, more active residents, and a sense of empowerment. In 2014, EPIC took over the pre-existing community garden located at Goodlad, as another organizat

ion passed the torch. The garden is located in the backyard of a community living home for adults with disabilities, where the benefits of community gardening are noticed in more ways than one. At the Goodlad garden, there is a strong sense of connection and belonging. Gardeners support one another, offering advice, taking over duties when necessary, and congratulating one another on successes. The team of community gardeners at Goodlad work well together and have built relationships with one another, as well as with the people who call Goodlad "home". From those who are learning, to well-seasoned gardeners, the community garden at Goodlad has become a welcome place for all. We look forward to a wonderful growing season, and hope to see you at our annual Harvest Festival on September 26, 2015.
