Last Friday, and .international.college concluded its first Newton Experiential Education Program (NEEP) with the students presenting their business plan. They did not only demonstrate their mastery of the concepts that their SVC instructors taught them, but also unleashed their creativity in pitching their game restaurant.

NEEP is a collaboration between NIC and SVC which aims to equip Grade 9-12 students with the basic foundations of business, and give Schulich students an avenue to pass on their knowledge and experiences.

Last evening we had the pleasure of hosting Sarah Applebaum, Partner at Pangaea Ventures, and Prathna Ramesh, VP Operations at FutureSight and CCO at Maple Leaf Angels at our panel discussion on the Venture Capital space in Canada.

Thank you very much for your time and insights into investment criteria, exit strategies, current VC trends, and championing sustainability. The conversation would not have been complete without discussing the need for more diversity, the under-representation of women and people of color, and how VCs are addressing this concern.

We delved into what it takes to be successful in this space - what skills to build, which information to have on your fingertips - and how to build a strong mentor-mentee relationship.
