Serving Winnipeg for over 50 years, DASCH & the DASCH Foundation support people with intellectual disabilities to live full lives.

From community homes to day programs to employment training, everything we do is rooted in belonging. DASCH is a Winnipeg-based non-profit founded in 1974. We build inclusive communities where people with intellectual disabilities are valued and supported to live full, meaningful lives. Our services include community homes, day programs, employment training, recreation, and specialized supports that meet each person’s unique needs. Today, we support people ages 5 to 74 in more than 55 homes across Winnipeg. Our programs create opportunities for learning, connection, and greater independence. For over 50 years, DASCH has helped lead the shift toward community living. We continue to strengthen inclusion through education, awareness, and a deep commitment to respect and belonging.

Thanks to support from the Canada Summer Jobs grant program, Samson spent the summer leading our Good Neighbour Lawn Care program team, staffed by DASCHWorks participants.

Designed for participants to gain hands-on experience and build on skills, Samson says he also left with many meaningful lessons.

“I learned that taking the time to understand someone, build trust, and meet them where they are can make a big difference/impact. These are lessons I will definitely carry forward into my future roles.” he said.

It takes a lot of people to provide 24/7 quality support for residents living in all 50+ DASCH homes (plus day programs)!

We would not have the impact we do without the hard work of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who show up everyday for the people they support.

Our Foundation team visited our neighbourhood Co-Op gas bar earlier this summer to thank the Red River Co-op team for their ongoing support of our Lawn Care Program and recent donation of home BBQ supplies (to kit out the recent barbecues purchased!)
