FoSTRA is a not-for-profit organization managed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership of Residents Associations from within the south Toronto borders. Its boundaries are the same as the five downtown Wards – Wards 4, 9, 10, 13 – and the Ridings and Electoral Districts of Parkdale-High Park, Davenport, Spadina-Fort York, Toronto Centre plus Ward 11, University-Rosedale south of Bloor St
reet. FoSTRA is a non-partisan federation of residents’ associations that collaborate to:
• Help shape the creation of good public policies at all levels of government;
• Preserve and enhance the quality of life for Torontonians;
• Promote neighborhood identity and vitality, and;
• Ensure responsible and respectful development within its boundries. The major policy changes ushered in by the current Ontario government has prompted south Toronto residents’ associations to band together to create an organization that would speak with a louder voice and advocate for their policy interests regarding developments, infrastructure, heritage and consultations. FoSTRA has recently incorporated as a federal not-for-profit and is now in a position to accept membership requests, which we hope you will consider.
