All-Accessible is very excited to announce we are working on 4 new Disc Golf courses in the Okanagan Valley, BC Canada.

All 4 will be in communities that don't have a course and are planned to be installed in 2027.

We are looking for sponsors and volunteers, please reach out if you can help.

More details to come as these projects develop.

We’ve heard rumours

Over the years,

we’ve heard a lot of stories about where the name Duck Golf came from.

Like many great traditions, there are a few different versions.

Here’s one of our favourites.

Back in the late 1980s,

a group of BC disc golf pioneers gathered around Scott Lewis’ kitchen table in Vancouver to create a new tournament series.

As they tossed around ideas for a name,

the rain started pouring outside.

Someone joked,

“At least the ducks in the pond will like it.”

Jim Anderson—known to many as “The Canadian Geezer”—said

“Maybe we should call it Duck Golf instead of Disc Golf!”

The room erupted in laughter…

…and the name stuck.

In 1988, the first Duck Golf tournament was held at Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver,

beginning what would become one of British Columbia’s longest-running disc golf traditions.

Now it’s your turn to be part of the tradition.

Or better tee pads?

new tee signs.

A new bench.

A practice basket.

Or funding for your club’s next big project.

⸻

Host a Duck Golf event.

Every Duck Golf tournament brings more players to your course.

Those players pay green fees.

A portion of those green fees stays with your local club.

That money can be used for course improvements, new equipment, maintenance,

or whatever your club needs most.

The more clubs that host Duck Golf,

the more we can invest back into courses across British Columbia.

So Let’s build better courses together.

It all started at Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver.

What began as a local tournament series

has grown into one of BC’s longest-running traditions in disc golf

A huge thank you to the people who helped build it from the ground up:

• Scott Lewis
• Ross Lapper
• Jim Anderson
• Brad Henderson

Today, more than three decades later,

Duck Golf is still bringing players and communities together across British Columbia.

Now it’s your turn to be part of the story.

Whether you want to play in a Duck Golf event or host one in your community,

we’d love to have you involved.

Ever wanted to run your own tournament?

Host a Duck Golf event.

Tournament Directors are the reason our sport continues to grow, so this season we’re giving back.

One Tournament Director from every Duck Golf event will receive their 2027 PDGA Membership covered by the BCDGA.

We hope it encourages a few more people

to experience what it’s like to host one of BC’s longest-running tournament series.

Whether it’s your first event or your fiftieth,

we’d love to have you involved.

Do you have discs collecting dust? 🥏

Talk to your local disc golf club about organizing a donation drive.

Drop a few discs off at a local school, youth group, or community centre.

Build a loaner set for your local course.

Host a beginner’s day and give a few away to new players.

It doesn’t take much to make a lasting impact.

Huge shoutout to the Prince George Disc Golf Community

for donating nearly 100 discs to kids and families.

We hope more clubs and players across BC are inspired to do the same. 💚🥏

Have you heard of duck golf? 👇

It’s one of British Columbia’s longest-running and most recognized traditions in disc golf.

For years, players from every corner of the province have come together through Duck Golf.

Many played their very first tournament here.

Many Tournament Directors hosted their very first event with us.

and now we are looking for tournament directors for the 2026/27 season

Hosting a Duck Golf event is an opportunity to:

🥏 Be part of BC disc golf history.

🌱 Gain valuable Tournament Director experience.

🤝 Bring your local disc golf community together.

❤️ Share your passion for the game with the next generation of players.

Every event helps keep one of BC’s most established tournament series alive and growing.

Be Part of the Next Chapter

The next chapter of Duck Golf is written by the people who step up to host.

We hope you’ll be one of them.
