Hello, everyone!

I wanted to give you a quick update about last weekend and apologize for the quiet week—I had to step away for a few days, but now I’m back and ready to keep moving forward!

Last Saturday, I made the first step in this initiative by delivering a care package to one of the homes in Riverside. The response was incredibly kind, and I was reminded of just how powerful small acts of compassion can be.

The person I delivered to reached out to say thank you and expressed how much the gesture meant to them. It’s a reminder that even in the most challenging environments, there’s room for connection and hope.

This Saturday, I plan to head back to Riverside, at 1pm, with more care packages and continue building those connections. I’d love your support—whether it’s ideas, feedback, or simply sharing the page to spread the word. Together, we’re planting the seeds of a stronger, more united community.

Thank you for your patience and encouragement as this grows into something meaningful!

This is what we’re building together—one step, one idea, one connection at a time.

🌟 Support Our Neighbours on Riverside 🌟

Trail CAN is built on the belief that small, heartfelt gestures can make a big difference—and now, we have a beautiful opportunity to show our love and support to our neighbours on Riverside Avenue.

Life near the shelter has brought challenges, and many of our Riverside neighbours may feel unheard or unseen. It’s time to change that. While we can’t solve these issues overnight, we can remind them that they’re not alone, that they’re valued, and that their voices matter.

Here’s what we’re doing: we’re baking cupcakes and writing cards of support to let them know that their community cares about them. A little kindness can go a long way, and together, we can spark a positive connection and start bridging the gaps. (We hope to start getting a care package organized for the shelter too.)

Trail has always been a town of determination, grit, and pride, and nothing embodies that more than the story of the Trail Smoke Eaters.

In 1939 and again in 1961, our community came together to support a team of local hockey players as they took on the world—and won. These victories weren’t just about hockey; they were about the spirit of Trail.

When the Smoke Eaters needed funds to travel and compete, the community rallied. Local businesses, families, and volunteers made it happen. Their victories on the world stage weren’t just their triumphs—they were ours.

These moments are reminders of what Trail can accomplish when we work together. They’re proof that even a small town can achieve greatness through unity, passion, and hard work.

If we could come together to support the Smoke Eaters, imagine what we can accomplish today.

Let’s take that same spirit into the future! What are some moments in Trail’s history that make you proud? Share your stories in the comments!

Let’s carry that legacy forward.

For those interested in learning more about Trail's amazing hockey history, I suggest checking out these 2 books and Trophy Town DVD available at The Trail Riverfront Centre.

We’re currently preparing for a town hall meeting this spring, where we’ll gather to share ideas, concerns, and solutions. It will be an opportunity to listen, collaborate, and start building a stronger, more united Trail together.

Stay tuned for updates as we finalize the details!

This is only the beginning, but with your help, we can create a network of action, hope, and real progress. Thank you for being part of the Trail CAN journey! Together, we can make a difference!
