Happy Birthday Paul Anka!

Today we celebrate one of Canada’s most iconic musical talents. Born in Ottawa, Paul Anka became an international sensation with his unforgettable voice, timeless songwriting, and hits like “Diana,” “Put Your Head on My Shoulder,” and “My Way” (which he famously adapted for Frank Sinatra).

With a career spanning more than six decades, Paul Anka’s contributions to music have left an enduring mark on generations of performers and fans around the world!

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Glen Hansard, the acclaimed Irish singer-songwriter, actor, and Oscar-winning musician. From his work with The Frames and The Swell Season to the Academy Award-winning Falling Slowly from ‘Once’, Hansard’s heartfelt music and honest storytelling touched millions around the world.

Happy Birthday, Rufus Wainwright!

Today we’re celebrating one of Canada’s most distinctive musical voices!

Born in New York and raised in Montréal, Rufus Wainwright grew up surrounded by music and began his career performing on the Montréal club circuit. A multiple Juno Award winner, Rufus has gone on to conquer the worlds of pop, classical music, opera, and musical theatre.

From acclaimed albums to his opera ‘Hadrian’, which premiered at the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto, Rufus has spent his career proving that Canadian music is anything but one-note!
