June is National Indigenous History Month.

We celebrate the rich histories, accomplishments and cultures of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples across Canada, while recognizing the ongoing inequities faced by Indigenous communities. At PCMCH, we are committed to building respectful, meaningful relationships with Indigenous partners and supporting Indigenous-led approaches to healthcare.

We encourage everyone to learn more about Indigenous culture and history, including by checking out the following educational resources:

Preeclampsia is a serious health condition that can develop during pregnancy, and it can have life-threatening consequences if not recognized early. Understanding the signs, symptoms and risk factors is critical to ensuring timely care and safer outcomes.

PCMCH, in partnership with the MotHERS™ Program, has developed a patient resource on preeclampsia awareness and prevention during pregnancy. This fact sheet provides clear, accessible information for individuals who are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, helping them recognize symptoms and know when to connect with a healthcare provider. To help improve access and reduce barriers, the resource is available in multiple languages.

How can we better support people through early pregnancy and the postpartum period with clear, timely information?

PCMCH has released two new resources to help support continuity of care during early pregnancy and the postpartum period:
- Early Pregnancy Concerns Care Navigation Resource
- Postpartum Warning Signs Information Sheets

Together, these patient- and provider-facing resources support clearer communication, consistent follow-up, and a more patient-centred experience from early pregnancy through the postpartum period. The patient-facing resources are available in multiple languages and were developed with input from clinicians, people with lived experience, and subject matter experts.
