Because celebrating incredible women shouldn’t stop after one week. 🌟

At the Urban Pilots & Professionals Network, we continue to recognize the women who are shaping the future of aviation.

Meet Zoey Williams, UPN Consultant and Advisory Board Member.

Zoey began her aviation journey in high school, earning her Recreational Pilot Permit and building a remarkable career across multiple areas of the industry. From flight instructor, to flying in remote northern Ontario, to becoming a regional airline pilot and eventually a long-haul international airline pilot. Her path reflects dedication, resilience, and a passion for the aviation.

One of her most meaningful career moments?
Flying the Boeing 777 alongside her father as Captain. ✈️

Thank you, Zoey, for inspiring the next generation of aviation professionals. 👏🏽🙌🏽

The sky has never belonged to one gender, it belongs to those bold enough to chase it. ✈️

This Women in Aviation Week, we celebrate the pioneers who refused to accept limits and instead rewrote the rules of flight. From breaking barriers in the flight deck to engineering the aircraft that carry us across the world, these women proved that courage, brilliance, and determination have no ceiling.

Their stories are not just history, they are fuel for the next generation of aviators, engineers, and leaders who will continue to shape the future of aviation.

The skies are wider, stronger, and more inclusive because of women who dared to rise.

On February 12th, The Urban Pilots & Professionals Network proudly collaborated with Black Esteem and the Black Brilliance team for the Youth STEAM Festival at Kingsdale Community Centre in Kitchener!
From discovering what aviation really means, learning about the many career paths in aviation, and exploring how aircraft instruments work, the day was packed with inspiration and hands-on learning. Our team wrapped it up with exciting flight simulator sessions where students flew a full circuit pattern in a Cessna 172!
Huge thanks to the Waterloo Region District School Board and the Kingsdale Community Centre for creating space and opportunity for our youth to explore STEAM, dream big, and see themselves in aviation. Representation matters and the sky is not the limit, it’s just the beginning!

As we approach Canada's National Aviation Day on February 23, we’re honoring the woman whose courage helped change the course of Canadian aviation.

Eileen Vollick challenged a system that wasn’t built to include her. At a time when women were rarely welcomed in the flight deck, she pursued her passion anyway, proving that skill, determination, and belief could outfly expectations.

Her bravery helped open doors for women across Canada and laid important groundwork for the diverse community of pilots we see today.

We celebrate her legacy and the generations of aviators she continues to inspire.

Some legacies aren’t loud; they’re lasting.

This Black History Month, we honor Wally Peters, whose career reflects consistency, excellence, and a deep commitment to service.

Because every time someone sees possibility where they once saw limits, that impact traces back to pioneers like him.
