Oakville Youth Community Chess Day | June 28, 2026

Thank you so much to the Town of Oakville for supporting our Oakville Youth Community Chess Day through the Community Activation Grant 2026.

Because of this support, we were able to offer a free chess tournament for children, with participation gifts, pizza, juice, and a beautiful space for families to come together.

We had 37 kids playing, and it was wonderful to see so much focus, excitement, and sportsmanship in the room. The Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre was an amazing place for this event - bright, spacious, and very welcoming.

We are truly grateful to the Town of Oakville for helping make this day possible for the children and their families.

A sincere thank you to Oakville Orthodontics for sponsoring the trophies for our Oakville Youth Community Chess Day.

Thanks to their generous support, we were able to prepare 7 beautiful trophies for our young players:

🏆 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in U1300
🏆 Top Girl in U1300
🏆 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in U1700

The trophies made the award ceremony feel truly special. It was wonderful to see the winners holding them with so much pride and excitement after a full day of chess.

Film.ca Cinemas generously donated 4 Admit One movie tickets, and we are excited to use them as prizes in the U1700 section of our tournament on Sunday, June 28.

Thank you to Playcious Oakville for supporting Oakville Youth Community Chess Day!

Playcious has generously donated five 2-hour Basic Play Passes, valued at $14.99 each. We will use them as additional prizes across both tournament sections.

Even better, during regular weekdays, these passes are valid for double the play time - 4 hours instead of 2 hours.

Registration is now open for the Victory July Classical Open on July 18–19 - and thanks to the generous support of Tutor Doctor, we were able to reduce the registration fee to $40!

This is a CFC-rated youth classical tournament for players under 18, with U1300 and U1700 sections based on CFC Regular rating.

Players will compete in 5 rounds with a classical time control of 60 minutes + 30 seconds increment.

- Etobicoke Olympium, Multipurpose Room 2
- CFC-rated
- Under 18
- 5 rounds over 2 days
🏆 Trophies for U1300

A big thank you to Albion Health Pharmacy for supporting our Victory June Rapid Open on June 13!

Thanks to their generous support, we were able to reduce the registration fee and make the tournament more affordable for families in our community.

We are very grateful that 38 kids were able to play, compete, learn, and enjoy a great day of chess together.

A big thank you to Tridont Dental Clinic for supporting our Victory June Rapid Open!

We were very happy to have Tridont Dental Clinic join us as a community sponsor for this tournament. Their sign and flyers were displayed at the event, and they also prepared giveaway bags for the children, which were handed out before the final round.

They also shared that their clinic has a special pediatric dentist who works with children - something many parents may find helpful to know.

Thanks to the support of our community sponsors, 38 children were able to play in a CFC-rated youth chess tournament and enjoy a great day of chess together.

Our trophies are ready, and we’re all set for tournament day tomorrow!

Each trophy is handmade and created exclusively for Victory Chess Club, so they’re truly one of a kind.

We also made an extra Top Girl trophy for the U1300 section.

We’re looking forward to seeing all our players and families tomorrow at the Victory June Rapid Open. See you there!
