Stand Out Africa-Daring African Youths To Think & Tailor Solutions For Continental Unique Challenges Through Mentorship, Capacity Building, and Cultural Exchange

as it marks the founding of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) in 1963 a bold step toward continental unity and liberation. As we journey toward the 100-year milestone in 2063, guided by the African Union’s Agenda 2063, the role of the diaspora has never been more critical.

This year, the chose a powerful call for “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent Through Reparations.” Stand Out Africa is ensuring that every voice in the diaspora is heard and contributes meaningfully to the Africa we all want.

Join us on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 2:00 PM – 6:00PM at the Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre as we convene diplomats, scholars, professionals, creatives, and young African leaders. This is more than a cultural celebration—it is a strategic platform for new ideas, cross-continental collaboration, and a clear call to action.

“This is not just a networking event. It’s about rewriting Africa’s story—with our diaspora at the center,” Aijuka told us.Uganda is tapping into the power of its global citizens like never before. With remittances contributing over $1.2 billion in 2023, the diaspora is already a key economic player.But Aijuka wants more—real policy seats, inclusive partnerships, and investment in homegrown innovation. Stand Out Africa celebrates the groundbreaking Blue Origin NS-31 mission that launched on April 14, 2025—marking the first all-female crewed spaceflight since 1963. These six phenomenal women didn’t just reach space—they redefined what’s possible.

📌 Meet the Women Who Reached for the Stars:

Aisha Bowe – Aerospace engineer and founder of STEMBoard. The first Black woman to fly with Blue Origin, Aisha is proof that brilliance and boldness can take you beyond the stratosphere.
Amanda Nguyen – Civil rights activist and founder of Rise. The first Vietnamese-American woman in space, Amanda turned personal advocacy into federal policy—and now, into a mission among the stars.
Gayle King – Veteran journalist and co-anchor of CBS Mornings. Gayle’s journey into space reminds us that storytelling and history-making often go hand-in-hand.
