Manan Kotak is a senior expert specializing in humanitarian aid and education, with more than twenty years of international experience. He has focused his career on driving impactful initiatives in Education in Emergencies (EiE), psychosocial support, cluster coordination within humanitarian frameworks, and resilience-building in crisis-affected areas. His efforts prioritize delivering quality, equitable, and protective access to education for children displaced by conflict and disasters.
Manan has collaborated extensively with leading international organizations. Recently, he served as an Education Specialist with UNICEF in Ukraine during the war and in Greece for the Refugee Education Program, focusing on emergency response and refugee education. He also managed a multi-million-dollar initiative with Save the Children for Education Cannot Wait (ECW) in Ethiopia. His previous positions include serving as an Education/Risk and Safeguarding Specialist at ECW headquarters in New York and Geneva, as well as roles as an Education Specialist in complex environments such as Afghanistan, Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda, Sudan, Ethiopia, and the Syria cross-border response.
Proficient in leading diverse teams and managing complex humanitarian scenarios, Manan demonstrates a strong track record in establishing partnerships, designing programs, and mobilising resources successfully for EiE initiatives across Asia, Africa and the Middle East. He holds a Master of Arts in International Social Development from the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom, and an Advanced Studies Certificate in Education in Emergencies from the University of Geneva.
