Mr. Md.Shah Alom Khokon, Consul General of the Bangladesh High Commission in Toronto, invited the Directors and Advisors of the Bangladesh Business Chamber of Canada (BBCC) to attend the Independence Day Reception in Toronto.

The following BBCC representatives attended the reception: Mr. Iqbal Hamid Quraishi, Advisor; Mr. Masud Ahmed, Advisor; Mr. Ferdous Ahmed, Vice President; Mr. Masud Mallick, Director; Mr. Shipon Howlader, Director; Mr. Anwarul Kabir Khan Tushan, Director; and Mr. Nasir Mahmud, Director.
In addition, Ms. Faria Latif, Mr. Rafy Alam, and Mr. Din Islam, members of BBCC, also attended the reception upon invitation from the Consular Office.
Renowned singer Kumar Bishwajit was also in attendance.

The EGM and the 1st AGM of BBCC’s 2024–2026 Committee were held yesterday, January 24, at Khazana Restaurant, Toronto.

Member participation was excellent. Advisors, Directors, and Members actively took part in the discussions.

The EGM was conducted first, followed by the AGM. After the completion of the AGM, dinner was served.

We sincerely thank all members who attended the meeting. Special thanks to Mr. Shamimul Hassan and Mr. Masud Siddique for traveling from Montreal to join us.

BBCC Delegation Meets the High Commissioner of Canada to Bangladesh

The President of the Bangladesh Business Chamber of Canada (BBCC) led a five-member delegation to pay a courtesy call and hold a meeting with His Excellency Ajit Singh, High Commissioner of Canada to Bangladesh, on Monday, November 3, 2025.

The BBCC delegation included:
1. Mr. Alamgir M. Rahman – President, BBCC
2. Mr. M. Abdul Mutaleeb – Advisor, BBCC
3. Mr. Iqbal Hamid Quraishi (Adnan) – Advisor, BBCC
4. Mr. Md. Abdul Momen – Advisor, BBCC
5. Mr. Majumdar Arifur Rahman – Member, BBCC

The Canadian High Commission was represented by:
1. His Excellency Ajit Singh – High Commissioner of Canada to Bangladesh
2. Ms. Debra Boyce – Counsellor and Senior Trade Commissioner
3. Mr. Md. Kamaluddin – Trade Commissioner

The meeting, which lasted for about an hour, was held in a cordial and productive atmosphere. It provided an excellent opportunity to brief the High Commission on BBCC’s background, objectives, achievements, and future plans, as well as its expectations from the Canadian High Commission in Bangladesh.

His Excellency the High Commissioner expressed his pleasure in learning that BBCC is an organized chamber in Canada working to strengthen social, business, and trade relations between the Bangladeshi and Canadian communities.

বাংলাদেশ পোশাক প্রস্তুতকারক ও রপ্তানিকারক সমিতি (বিজিএমইএ) এবং বাংলাদেশ বিজনেস চেম্বার অফ কানাডার (বিবিসিসি) মধ্যে একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সমঝোতা স্মারক স্বাক্ষরিত হয়েছে। এই সমঝোতা স্মারকের মূল লক্ষ্য হলো দুই প্রতিষ্ঠানের মধ্যে সহযোগিতা জোরদার করা, ব্যবসায়িক সম্পর্ককে সুদৃঢ় করা এবং পারস্পরিক ব্যবসায়িক প্রবৃদ্ধি ও উন্নয়নের জন্য নতুন সুযোগ সৃষ্টি করা ।

আজ ০৬ নভেম্বর উত্তরাস্থ বিজিএমইএ কমপ্লেক্সে এক অনুষ্ঠানে সমঝোতা স্মারকে বিজিএমইএ এর পক্ষে স্বাক্ষর করেন সভাপতি মাহমুদ হাসান খান এবং বিবিসিসি এর পক্ষে স্বাক্ষর করেন সভাপতি আলমগীর এম রহমান।

এ সময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন বিজিএমইএ এর ১ম সহ-সভাপতি Salim Rahman, সিনিয়র সহ-সভাপতি Inamul Khan - Bablu, সহ-সভাপতি মোঃ রেজোয়ান সেলিম, সহ-সভাপতি (অর্থ) Mijan R. Fpb, পরিচালক ফয়সাল সামাদ, পরিচালক নাফিস-উ-দৌলা এবং সাবেক পরিচালক ইকবাল হামিদ কোরাইশী আদনান।

এই সমঝোতা স্মারকের মাধ্যমে বিজিএমইএ এবং বিবিসিসি এর সদস্যদের পারস্পরিক সুবিধা প্রদানের জন্য একটি প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক সম্পর্ক স্থাপন করা হয়েছে। এটি মূলত বাণিজ্য, বিনিয়োগ এবং জ্ঞান বিনিময়ের ক্ষেত্রে উন্নত সহযোগিতা নিশ্চিত করবে।
