African Fashion Week Toronto is a week long Fashion exhibition produced by FRF as a spring board for Student, emerging and experienced designers interested in establishing a presence in the North American Fashion market. One of our organizational objectives is to use this platform to create employment therefore contributing to the elimination of poverty and unemployment in Canada, Africa and other

parts of the world. During the festivities, designers will be offered a premium opportunity to present their latest fashion designs to local and international buyers, Fashion retailers, celebrity stylists, the media, and the general public. In addition to providing opportunities for African Inspired designers and models, AFWT also creates advertising and marketing opportunities for new and existing businesses through our customer lead generation, market research and promotional programs. This multi-cultural event supports the arts and culture of the African Heritage whilst contributing to the tourism market of Ontario, Canada. The event is designed to attract key industry players, local and international celebrities, relevant business associates, media houses, key Government officials and many others. During its first inception in 2013, the event focused on building strong relationships with local and international media houses to bring global attention to the excellence in fashion that Africa has to offer. The event received vast media coverage across print, online media, radio and television Broadcast in both local and international platforms including CBC, CTV, Rogers Television, Planet Africa Television and Magazine, Huffington Post, Africa Fashion Guide, Caribbean headline news and many others. Some of the well established African designers who showcased include the King of couture: Mr. Adebayo Jones (London), The very edgy designs of Black Trash clothing (Botswana), Mema Exclusive (Liberia), Glo creations (Rwanda), Chinedesign (Toronto), Kaela Kay Collection (Toronto) just to name a few.
