Financial security is part of healthy aging.

People aging with HIV often face unique financial challenges. With funding through OHTN’s HIV Endgame Program, Realize developed Financial Empowerment for Healthy Aging with HIV, which offers guides, listings and links to financial resources and information relevant to Ontario residents, including financial questions, income supports, benefits and retirement transitions.

Young people aren't just the future of HIV prevention, they're helping shape it today.

This International Youth Day, we're highlighting Theatre Making Impact (TMI): Scaling-Up a Youth-Led HIV Prevention Play Across Ontario, led by Sarah Flicker and Shira Taylor.

Supported through OHTN's HIV Endgame Program, TMI centres youth leadership by creating opportunities for young people to lead conversations about HIV prevention, stigma, mental health, and healthy relationships through theatre.

As highlighted in York University's recent article, Funding expands arts-based HIV prevention program, TMI has reached more than 12,000 youth across Canada, particularly newcomer, Indigenous, and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. This program is scaling how arts-based, youth-led approaches build HIV knowledge and strengthen connections to support services.

At OHTN, we’re committed to supporting youth leadership and creative, community-driven approaches, that centres the voices, expertise and experiences of young people in HIV prevention.

What does culturally grounded HIV prevention look like?

On International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, we're recognizing the importance
of approaches that are rooted in community knowledge, cultures, experiences, and
strengths.

A recent OHTN Rapid Response explores what culturally competent HIV prevention means
for Indigenous Peoples and African, Caribbean, and Black communities. The evidence highlights the value of working in partnership with communities to create services that are culturally safe, relevant, and responsive to people's needs.
