Law Students 📣 Apply to our 2026 Student Awards recognizing influential women studying law — all nominations are due March 15th at 11:59pm EST. The award recipients will be invited to our annual President’s Awards Gala on May 7th, 2025 in Toronto.

➡️ The Trailblazer Award recognizes a female law student for her leadership role in business and the law (this could be corporate/commercial, not-for-profit, or entrepreneurial). This award is given to a student that best exemplifies the qualities of effective business leadership, innovatively applied know-how, and potential for growth.

➡️ The Equality Award is designed to recognize a woman law student who has dedicated her time and talents to advancing equality rights (such as, but not limited to religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, mental health, refugee, aboriginal, minority and HIV/AIDS victim’s rights).

➡️ The Women-In-Law Award recognizes a law student who exemplifies the drive and determination to achieve a law degree after having spent time in the workforce and demonstrate a defined need for financial assistance.

Each recipient will be awarded a $2000 honorarium. Thank you to our sponsors and award partners !

➡️ Nominations are due Sunday, March 15th at 11:59pm EST. The recipient will be invited as a guest of honour to the President’s Gala on May 7th, 2026!

🎉 Happy International Women’s Day! Since 1919, the Women’s Law Association of Ontario (WLAO) has been dedicated to empowering women in the legal profession by providing a collective voice and advocating for equality, diversity, and meaningful change.

Through our programming, advocacy, events, and community, we continue to support and elevate women across the legal profession while championing the issues that matter most.

As we celebrate the incredible contributions of women in law today, we also invite you to help recognize those making an impact.
