Thank You to The Eric S. Margolis Foundation

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to The Eric S. Margolis Foundation for their very generous donation. As a registered charity that receives no government funding, we rely on support like this to carry out our work and to have a direct impact on the cats and kittens who rely on us for care.

This year has brought unprecedented challenges. Adoption rates have declined, while the number of animals requiring our help has continued to grow. In addition to welcoming several complex medical cases that required extensive veterinary treatment and prolonged care, we currently have more than 100 kittens in foster homes. Alongside these kittens, we are also caring for adult, senior, and palliative cats, each with their own unique needs.

Thanks to the generosity of The Eric S. Margolis Foundation, every one of these mothers and kittens has been - or will be - spayed or neutered. This support plays a vital role in preventing further overpopulation and helps reduce the overwhelming strain placed on rescues like ours.

Their contribution helps bridge the gap between adoption fees and fundraising revenue and the rising costs of veterinary care, food, supplies, and daily operations. We are deeply grateful for their compassion and commitment to animal welfare.

The Eric S. Margolis Foundation

A sincere thank you to The Eric S. Margolis Family Foundation for their generous gift in support of WPC’s turtle rehabilitation and conservation program. Through the critical work of this program, WPC is preventing the loss of one of B.C.’s most threatened reptiles, and the province’s only native freshwater turtle, through direct care, rehabilitation, and release back into the wild.

The Eric S. Margolis Family Foundation was established out of a commitment to animals, humanity, and nature, with a focus on supporting and nurturing these vital elements. The Foundation’s work centers on helping organizations that provide sanctuary for abused, neglected, and abandoned animals, advocating for stronger animal protection laws, and assisting efforts to support animals in immediate distress.

The gift received from The Eric S. Margolis Family Foundation will allow WPC to continue its holistic approach to turtle conservation in B.C., operating British Columbia’s only turtle rehabilitation facility caring for injured turtles. Thank you!

Il y a quelques semaines, nous recevions une contribution exceptionnelle de The Eric S. Margolis Foundation, nous permettant d'investir dans du matériel essentiel pour les soins de nos plus petits protégés.

Aujourd'hui, nous sommes heureux de vous annoncer que le premier de nos trois nouveaux incubateurs est enfin arrivé! 🐱🍼

Ces incubateurs nous permettront d'accueillir des portées de chatons orphelins dans un environnement sécuritaire où la température et l'humidité peuvent être contrôlées. Pour des nouveau-nés qui ne sont pas encore capables de réguler leur température corporelle, cet équipement peut véritablement faire toute la différence.

Grâce à cette généreuse contribution, nous pourrons également nous procurer du matériel indispensable pour continuer d'offrir les meilleurs soins possibles à nos chatons.

Afin de souligner cette incroyable générosité, chacun des trois incubateurs portera un autocollant en hommage à notre précieux partenaire, The Eric S. Margolis Foundation , qui aura contribué à offrir une deuxième chance à d'innombrables petites vies au fil des années.

Celebrating a beautiful partnership rooted in compassion! 🐾

Another incredible milestone for the future of veterinary care in the North! The Eric S. Margolis Foundation has reinforced its commitment to Northern Ontario’s future by donating an additional $50,000 to Lakehead University’s Collaborative Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program (CDVMP)—bringing their total support to an incredible $75,000!

The Eric S. Margolis Foundation focuses its philanthropic work on three crucial elements of our world: Animals, Humanity, and Nature.

When you look at the goals of the new collaborative vet school at Lakehead, the synergy is undeniable. By training the next generation of veterinarians directly in the communities that need them most, this program will:

✅ Help Animals by closing critical gaps in routine and emergency veterinary care.

✅ Support Humanity by protecting livestock health and bringing vital resources to rural and Indigenous communities.
