Supporting Canadian youth thru the Legion's National Track & Field Competition ...

In 1957, the Legion began a national youth track and field program to support children whose parents were serving or had served, promoting physical fitness, sportsmanship, and leadership. This initiative laid the foundation for today’s Legion National Youth Track and Field Championships.

Colonel Geoffrey Stephen Parker RIP
We will remember them!

We remember Colonel Geoffrey Stephen Parker, a respected leader, devoted father, and proud soldier who gave his life in service to Canada.

On May 18, 2010, Colonel Parker was killed by a su***de bomber attack in Kabul, Afghanistan, while serving on a NATO mission. At 42 years old, he was the highest ranking Canadian Armed Forces member to die during the Afghanistan mission—a loss felt deeply across the military and the nation.

Those who served with him remember a natural leader who led from the front, cared deeply for his troops, and embodied professionalism, courage, and humility. His service and sacrifice continue to inspire all who wear the uniform.

We honour his life, his leadership, and the legacy he leaves behind.

Signalman Neil Edward Mason RIP
We will remember them!

Today, we remember Signalman Neil Edward Mason from Chatham, Ontario.

Neil was just 19 years old when he was killed on this day in 1958, while serving as a member of the United Nations Emergency Force in Rafah, Egypt.

His sacrifice in the cause of peace will never be forgotten.

Honour Neil’s memory by laying a poppy on his virtual war memorial page: https://ow.ly/82Pb50YZwpf
