BREAKING: The Ford government’s school board takeovers resulted in a record 1,346 school board complaints to the ombudsman. The complaints highlighted concerns about government-appointed supervisors, the changing role of trustees and a lack of transparency.

This is the chaos Ford Nation and Paul Calandra have brought to our schools, students, and classrooms. Parents, teachers, community members, and students are fighting back!

This Saturday, June 27, concerned parents, community members, education workers and more are rallying together for a province-wide day of action against Doug Ford. After years of funding cuts, staff shortages, crowded classrooms, and rising violence, people are saying loud and clear: enough is enough.

Students notice.

They notice when classes are too crowded. They notice when there aren't enough teachers and education workers. And they notice when it's harder to get the help and attention they need.

New national research found that:
📚 76% of students say large classes make learning harder
👥 56% say there aren't enough education workers & support staff
🏫 48% say there are too many students in their classroom

In Ontario, these challenges aren't getting better under this government. They're getting worse.

As bargaining continues, will keep fighting for the resources and supports students need and the working conditions teachers and education workers deserve.

OSSTF/FEESO is calling for the government to increase funding for students with Special Education Needs.

Following the Auditor General of Ontario’s 2026 performance audit on special education, OSSTF/FEESO is once again sounding the alarm that student needs are growing, but the Ford government continues to shortchange schools on the staffing, resources, and supports students require to succeed.
