Our hearts are with Jamaica and all the Caribbean islands in Hurricane Melissa’s path—including Haiti, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic. 💚

We’re holding these communities close to our hearts and sending love as they prepare for the storm. Wishing safety, strength, and calm for everyone. May the islands’ incredible spirit shine through. 🙏✨

Some of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters have been composed by TrinBagonian talent 🎼

Trinidad and Tobago-born composer Jonathan Corbie is quietly building a career in Hollywood, with work featured in Deadpool & Wolverine, trailers for John Wick 4 and the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series.

Raised in San Fernando in a musical household - his father guitarist Ken Corbie performed with Lord Kitchener, and his mother Christine was a classical vocalist - Corbie says those early sounds shaped his style. He later moved to Los Angeles in 2018 to study film scoring and now contributes music and sound design to major studios including Marvel and Lionsgate.

Corbie says that while the industry remains difficult to access for Caribbean composers, he plans to help change that.

He recently completed a project with the Point Fortin Iron Giants and hopes to create more opportunities for regional musicians.

“We have world-class talent at home,” he said. “Now it’s about building the pipeline.”
