As a Youth Leadership Program Chair, District 123, Toastmasters International I am so proud to start another YLP program from October - December 2024 at Bathurst Clark Resource Library, Vaughan ON.

The Youth Leadership Program (YLP) is an initiative by Toastmasters International designed to help young people develop communication and leadership skills. The program targets individuals under the age of 18 and offers a series of educational sessions that focus on improving public speaking, listening, and leadership capabilities.

Benefits of the Program:
Boosts Confidence: Helps young individuals become more confident in their ability to express ideas clearly and confidently.
Enhances Communication Skills: Focuses on both verbal and non-verbal communication skills, including body language and active listening.

Develops Leadership Qualities: Provides practical leadership experience through roles such as Toastmaster of the meeting, evaluator, or grammarian.

Prepares for the Future: Equips participants with skills that are valuable in school, extracurricular activities, and future careers.
How It Differs from Regular Toastmasters Meetings: While regular Toastmasters meetings are designed for adults, the Youth Leadership Program is tailored specifically to young people. The environment is more structured and supportive to meet the needs of younger participants.

The program can be organized by schools, community organizations, or Toastmasters clubs, making it widely accessible. It's an effective way to encourage personal development and foster a positive approach to leadership and public speaking at an early age.
