☔⚠️WEATHER UPDATE☔⚠️
Due to the possibility of rain and thunderstorms this afternoon, tonight's Community Dinner will take place in the church basement at 1470 Gerrard Street East. Dinner will be served at 5PM; doors open at 4:45PM.

We hope to be able to host a gathering at Ashbridge Estate Park sometime in the future, and thank their team for all the work they put in ahead of this event.

Please join us in the church basement this evening for an "indoors picnic" and musical entertainment!

Join us on Monday, July 27th for a special edition of our monthly Community Dinner - our very first outdoor summer picnic! We have planned a simple but delicious meal of hog dogs (served on homemade buns graciously provided to us by ) and coleslaw, as well as watermelon slices, ice cream bars, freezies, and cookies for dessert (vegetarian and halal options will be available). We will have very limited seating reserved for those who need it most, so please bring your own blanket and/or chair to sit on, and if you have any extras that you can share with your neighbours, even better!

📍Ashbridge Estate Park (1444 Queen Street East)
📆Monday, July 27, 2026
🕔5:00PM to 7:30PM (Dinner: 5:00PM-6:30PM; Music and Activities: 6:30PM-7:30PM)
♿The picnic site is at the bottom of a gentle grassy slope, so we will be including an accessible guest seating area at the top (where servers will fetch their meals).
🚽Accessible washrooms are available in the on-site building
🅿Parking at the site is very limited and needed for the volunteer drivers, so taking the TTC or parking on nearby streets is appreciated.
☔In case of rain, we will revert to the usual indoor East End Food Hub location for dinner (in the basement). Decision will be made on Sunday, July 26.

We serve at least 250 cups of coffee to our neighbours during every market day at the Nourish East End food bank. When one of our coffee urns broke last week, our neighbour Craig, from Butler's Appliance Service (249 Coxwell Ave), came to the rescue and, with the help of Hamilton Beach Canada, supplied us with a brand new coffee machine! Local businesses are the heart of Toronto's East End, and we thank them for all of their support throughout the years.

Garden At Kimbourne has been growing food and community in the East End since 2014. They're celebrating their upcoming Open House on June 14 from 11am-3pm with activities, an eco fair, food, and garden tours! We will be there along with a number of other community organizations that do incredible work to support urban agriculture and food justice in the city. Come by for a chat, a bite, and a look at the power of community.

We thank the team for their donations of freshly-grown produce over the years, and for promoting donations to the Nourish East End food bank at this event. The following are the most-needed items:
- Canned goods (beans, soup, tomato products, vegetables, fruit)
- Dry goods (beans, rice, mac and cheese, pasta, noodles, cereal, oatmeal, tea, granola bars, soup mix)
- Condiments (ketchup, mustard, mayo, cooking sauces, marinades, salad dressings, salt and pepper, spice mixes, dried herbs)
- Toiletries (dental care items, hair care items, soap, body wash, deodorant, toilet paper)
- Baby care items (diapers [sizes 2 to 5 most popular], baby wipes)
- Household items (laundry detergent pods, dryer sheets, dish soap, dish sponges, household cleaners, paper towels, can openers)
- Pet food (dry kibble or wet canned food for cats and dogs)
- Reusable bags (clean, regular-to-large in size)

We hope to see you there!
