Today, we celebrate the women who are helping shape the future of mining in Timmins and area.
Since launching in 2024, Women in Mining Timmins has grown into a thriving network of more than 150 members, including women and allies. Together, we've created opportunities to connect, learn, lead, and support one another through networking events, leadership initiatives, mentorship, and community-building activities.

To every woman working in mining, whether on site, underground, in the office, the lab, or in leadership, thank you for your dedication, expertise, and contributions to our industry.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Women in Mining Timmins Leadership Breakfast at the Canadian Mining Expo.

We were honoured to hear from Jennifer Wagner, Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Discovery Silver, who shared valuable insights on leadership, career growth, and the future of the mining industry.

WIMT was proud to join Canadian Trade-Ex for the Mining Week proclamation ahead of the Canadian Mining Expo, taking place June 10–11 at the McIntyre Arena.
We’re looking forward to connecting with representatives from the mining supply and service sector as we celebrate one the industry that drives our region forward.
A special thank you to Women in Mining Timmins co-chairs Hillary Laughren and Gabriella Desmarais for representing our Chapter during the proclamation and helping highlight the importance of women being involved and represented across all mining events, activities, and leadership spaces. ⛏️

Women in Mining Timmins was proud to be represented by Co-Chairs Hillary Laughren and Gabriella Desmarais at this year’s Jill of All Trades event at Northern College on May 14, connecting with students exploring pathways into mining, trades, and industrial careers. Creating opportunities for women in industry goes far beyond recruitment, it’s about mentorship, visibility, and building community at every stage of the journey.
