👊 CELEBRITY SPOTLIGHT: TROY CROWDER

Things might get a little more interesting when Troy Crowder hits the ice.

The former NHLer is confirmed for the 2026 Thunder Bay Celebrity Hockey Classic, joining Ray Bourque, Rick Vaive, Al Iafrate, Carter Hutton, Dave McLlwain, Matt Beleskey and more.

Now comes the important question.

Does Blades of Glory make the obvious move? Does Turn Key Communications swoop in? Or does one of our other teams have Crowder circled on its draft-night wish list?

We'll find out October 22.

Want to be more than a spectator? Individual player opportunities are still available on existing teams.

🏒 CELEBRITY SPOTLIGHT: DAVE McLLWAIN

Add another NHL veteran to the draft board.

Dave McLlwain is coming to the 2026 Thunder Bay Celebrity Hockey Classic!

Our eight teams are already registered, but individual roster opportunities remain. So if you've been watching from the stands and thinking you could still play a shift or two, this is your chance to prove this completely unverified claim.

Join an existing team, and you could find yourself skating alongside McLlwain or one of the other NHL alumni joining us in Thunder Bay.

Somebody has to keep this group under control.

Fortunately, we've got Rod Black.

The legendary Canadian sportscaster returns as emcee for the 2026 Thunder Bay Celebrity Hockey Classic, including an incredible evening at the Celebrity Draft Dinner on Thursday, October 22.

Rod gets the microphone.

This could get interesting.

Meet the Chefs of Superior Chef! 🔥

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing the talented Thunder Bay chefs who are stepping into the Superior Chef competition on October 1.

You know their restaurants. You may have tried their food. Now, they’re getting ready to go head-to-head for the title of Superior Chef.

We’re kicking off our chef introductions with Dave Thomas of Salt & Pepper Catering! 👨‍🍳

Dave Thomas is the Chef and Owner of Salt & Pepper Catering, which he started in Thunder Bay in 2006. A graduate of Stratford Chefs School, Dave has spent the past 20 years building Salt & Pepper into an award-winning local catering company serving weddings, celebrations, corporate events and more.

Dave is no stranger to a little friendly culinary competition. He was crowned Top Chef Thunder Bay in both 2018 and 2019 after placing second in 2017. His success as a local entrepreneur also earned him the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce’s Business Person of the Year award in 2019.

Now, Dave is ready to put his skills to the test once again as one of the chefs competing in Superior Chef!
