Northern Reach Network

We do not do adoptions. Northern Reach has contacts in remote northern communities that help starving, freezing, injured, stray, ill and surrendered animals.

Working with remote northern Ontario community volunteers, we fly in dogs to Thunder Bay, where they are temporarily fostered before going to reputable dog rescue groups to be adopted. Once a dog or pups have been identified as needing help, we locate a rescue group that will take the dogs/pups. All rescues we work with have been thoroughly checked out and are very reputable. Most of the dogs are

sent out of town after a brief stay in Thunder Bay, however we also work with our local rescues when they have room to help. Flights then need to be coordinated to Thunder Bay, and crates need to be shipped up. We have a group of wonderful temporary fosters who provide the homes and love while we supply all food and supplies needed. These dogs are usually kept anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks until transport to southern Ontario. When emergencies arise, we take the dogs to the vet clinic for medical care. In 2015 Northern Reach brought in over 1,000 dogs in need.

Thunder Bay!
We are still helping communities that are evacuated. We need your help to find a foster that can help this guy. He is on strict crate rest and will have some meds.
Ideally he needs a place with as few stairs as possible to get outside.
Unfortunately no kennels/shelters in Thunder Bay can assist to help this sweet guy recover.

Meet Sisu ❤️

Sisu came to us after Municipal Enforcement Services reached out. We saw what this sweet girl was facing and simply couldn’t say no.

Sisu has already had $2,500 worth of surgery on her derrière after suffering from a large, grossly infected wound. She has lots of healing left to do, and we know there will be plenty of ups and downs along the way.

But through it all, Sisu has been nothing but sweet and loving. Despite everything she’s endured, she continues to show us what a special girl she is.

She deserves this chance. ❤️ And now it’s our job to give her the time, care and love she needs to heal.

😂 Their flabbers were officially ghasted at picture time!

Meet four adorable orphaned brothers who are doing so well! ❤️

These little guys are two white, one black, and one tabby, and they are exactly what you’d expect from a crew of growing kittens — rambunctious, curious, playful, and always ready for their next adventure. 🐾

They’ve come such a long way and are thriving thanks to the care they’ve received. Now they’re ready for the next chapter!

These four handsome boys will be heading to Northern Connection where they’ll be available for adoption and ready to find their forever families. 🏡❤️

We have a feeling their new families are going to have their hands (and hearts!) very full! 😻

🐾✨ MEET SNAP, CRACKLE & POP! ✨🐾
These three adorable little toddlers are ready to steal some hearts! 💕🐶💕 They may have started out with a few bumps in the road, but these sweet pups are showing everyone just how resilient, loving, and happy puppies can be.

❤️ Snap is the little one currently recovering from demodectic mange. He is receiving the care and attention he needs, and he is on his way to feeling his very best. His journey is a reminder that sometimes the pups who need us most are the ones who have the biggest capacity to love. 🥹🐾

And then there’s Crackle and Pop, two equally adorable little personalities who are growing, learning, playing, and enjoying life like puppies should! 🐶💗

All three are good puppies with so much potential to become wonderful family companions. They’re still young and have their whole lives ahead of them—filled with adventures, belly rubs, cozy naps, toys, training, and hopefully a forever family to call their own. 🏡❤️

These little faces are impossible not to smile at! Just look at those ears, those eyes, and those sweet puppy expressions. 😍

🐾💙 MEET MR. BONES! 💙🐾
Just look at this sweet face! 🥹 Mr. Bones is an adorable 10–12 week old puppy who is absolutely as cute as can be. With his beautiful brindle coat, sweet eyes, and those precious little white paws, he’s pretty hard to resist! 🐶💕

Mr. Bones is a total love bug who is ready to find a family of his very own. At this age, he’s still discovering the world and has so much growing, learning, playing, and loving ahead of him. He’s looking for someone who will give him the patience, guidance, cuddles, and lifelong commitment every puppy deserves. ❤️

He may be little now, but he has a BIG personality and an even bigger heart. We can already imagine him becoming someone’s best friend, adventure buddy, couch snuggler, and devoted companion. 🥰🐾

Snowy & Rosie ❄️🐾

These sweet sisters, Snowy and Rosie, are settling into their new world one day at a time. They’re still a little nervous about all the new sights, sounds and experiences around them, but they’re getting braver every single day. ❤️

They’re wonderful with kids and are discovering that life can be pretty good when you have someone by your side. They’ve even established their own bedtime routine — at 9:30 every night, these girls put themselves to bed! 😂

They’ve also been busy putting their landscaping skills to work in the yard… apparently a few renovations were needed! 🌱🐶

Snowy and Rosie have now been placed with Lost Boys Hope, where we hope to see them continue to blossom and eventually find their forever homes.

We’re so excited to see where their journey takes them. Follow Lost Boys Hope for updates and, hopefully, adoption news for these two beautiful sisters! ❤️
