Museum Membership Giveaway

At our Flea Market on August 8th, 2026; we were gifted a large family museum membership donation! The only request from the couple who purchased the membership donation is that you use and enjoy your year long membership museum with your family. A pretty sweet deal if you ask us.

Benefits of being a Heritage North Museum Member are:
- unlimited general admission to the Heritage North Museum. Valid for one whole year.

Contest closes September 30th. Winners will be announced October 1st. Winner will have to visit the museum to fill out membership form and collect their membership card! All the best to those who participate. See you at the museum!

And that’s a wrap…
8 weeks of Little Explorers Day Camp has come to an end.

We would like to take the time to say thank you to all the parents who registered their children to participate in our Little Explorers Day Camp. I want to give a huge thank you to our Heritage North Museum staff and summer students for all the help that they provided me in keeping our camp kids entertained, fed and being an extra set of eyes, ears and hands for me - I could not have done this without you!

Keeping our day campers engaged was our goal for the summer and I feel like we accomplished this. We would like to thank the City of Thompson and the Province of Manitoba for the grant funding we received to host a summer day camp filled with presentations, STEM projects, arts and crafts and much more. We would like to thank Kiddies Northern Preschool for joining us one Wednesday for a combined group session - we enjoyed your company and class.

A special thanks to our presenters for stopping by and speaking/teaching our group. Having your community engagement means a lot to us!

Join the Roots of Hope and our partners for a free community barbecue at the TRCC on September 16, 2026 from 12-2pm!

There will be plenty of activities, music, and service providers for mental health!

✨Save the Date✨

On September 18th - bring your most adventurous plushie to the Heritage North Museum from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Fill out the registration form and pay a $2.00 fee (this helps us fundraise for future family programming and activities hosted by our museum). On September 19, come to the museum and pick up your plushie between 10:00am to 12:00pm.

Museum Admission is free upon plushie pick up, so you will get to see everything they got to see the night before. Join us in the boardroom for a teddy bear craft during your visit. Pictures will be taken of all the plushies as they explore the museum and will be sent out via email a few days after the event.

✨Join our Kids Crafty Club✨

Looking for a fun, creative and enriching activity for your child?

Join us on September 5, 2026 from 1:00 to 3:00 as we build, paint and design our own wooden plane. Space is limited. The Kids Crafty Club is a space where children can explore their creativity, learn new skills, make some friends and build their confidence - while having fun away from their screens.

$2.00 per child | parents are free
Children are free with a family museum membership. A perk of being a member to the Heritage North Museum.

Due to the construction in the area making our parking lot inaccessible for visitors, the Flea Market tomorrow will unfortunately be cancelled.

We will resume the market next Saturday (weather permitting)! Please stay tuned as we hope to extend the market into September to make up for some of our rainy days :) 🌧️

🌱 Last week the Little Explorers were joined by special guest Ricky Pronteau, who led them in some jigging! 💃

We also made our own battery powered cars as a STEM project 🚗💨
