Today's Kitty Spotlight: Fika! 🇸🇪

If you know something about Swedish culture or maybe even if you've been in an Ikea before, you have likely seen or heard the word Fika. Fika is the wonderful tradition of slowing down, enjoying a warm beverage, and having a little sweet treat. But there’s one more essential ingredient to a perfect fika: sharing it with good company💕

Now you can have a Fika all the time! Just like the tradition this 2 year old orange and white boy loves extreme relaxation. He takes his rest breaks very seriously and would love a belly rub to accompy it. He also knows you can't have a proper fika without some goodies! He knows exactly when his treats are coming and throughly enjoys them.

A true fika isn't just a coffee break, it's a way to connect and slow down. And who better to do that with than this sweet ginger man??

Adoption Fee $200
Includes neuter, deworm, flea treatment, microchip, rabies and FVRCP for the year.

Today’s kitty spotlight- Lemon Curd

Tangy, tart, sweet, best part of the pie!! This girl is a little bit of everything! A tad shy at first, playful, loving, loyal, enjoys head boops, rolls for belly rubs, and much, much more! Lemon Curd is a very sweet girl, who will take a small adjustment period, as she may be shy at first, but her lovable filling will be the best you ever get to enjoy! She is right around 8 months old and ready to share her sweet, tart, and tangy nature with her new forever home!!

Adoption fee-$200

Just a touch, and the whole dish comes together! The perfect addition to any meal, and this is a meal she will eat before you get any! It is safe to say she loves her wet food, and excitedly eats her plate right up! She is vibrant, relaxed, chatty, and adorable! Get out the grinder, and sprinkle this girl on everything! Cracked peppercorn is right around 3 years old, and ready to make life taste better!!

Today’s kitty spotlight- Parrot Fish

So…she really wants to be noticed, if you couldn’t tell! She wants to show off all her pretty colors, and wants you to notice her beautiful cat calls! Pet me, love me, give me temptations, she says! Longing for neck skritches, and back rubs, this sweet lady is calling to her forever people! When we were all done her photo shoot, as you can see it wasn’t enough attention, because here’s Parrot Fish!!! No diabolical sounds in the background, just sweet, sweet cat calls! This beauty is right around 2 years old, and not-so-patiently waiting for her forever home!!

🎃🐈‍⬛Halloween in June🐈‍⬛🎃

You’ve heard of Christmas in July, but here at Wandering Whiskers Cat Rescue, we are throwing a mid-year spooky celebration because our care is currently overflowing with some absolutely incredible black cats!

Black cats are often the last to be adopted and the first to be overlooked, but we know they are nothing but pure love, magic, and sweet companionship. If you've been looking to add a little extra luck and a lot of purrs to your home, now is the perfect time to meet our "spooky crew"!

Pulling the names for our giveaway baskets!

For long time followers of Wandering Whiskers you may notice our draw looks a little different this time. Our usual dedicated volunteer Ava, who normally pulls the names, is out of commission for a while. Please keep her in your thoughts! But Ava assured us that the kitties would be a fine substitute for her, this time 😉.

We are absolutely blown away by the incredible kindness and generosity of our community!! Since posting about our kitties in need, we have received $2,660 in donations! That means we are 85% of the way there and $440 remains.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, brings us closer to securing and paying for the care these sweet cats deserve. To everyone who has donated and shared the post, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Since so many of you shared last time, our post was seen by a generous donor who decided to donate $1500 to cover the cost of the 3 dentals!! We are so beyond grateful for this support and generosity💕

We know so many of you have been rooting for Leave The Cannoli. We are thrilled to share that they went in for their leg amputation surgery and are doing well. They are currently resting up, healing, and getting all the love they deserve❤️. Your support directly helps these kitties get the care they need.

Hey everyone, we are facing some big vet bills with some of our recent intakes. In total, we are facing $3,100 in veterinary costs. We want to ensure any kitty who comes into our rescue receives the best care possible but we need our community's support to help us pay for these surgeries.

Big Chungus, Moo Cow, and Creamsicle Swirl are all suffering from severe dental disease. Each of them requires a dental extraction to remove infected, painful teeth so they can finally eat comfortably again. These surgeries are estimated at $500 for each cat.

We also have a heartbreaking emergency case. One of our sweet kitties, Leave The Cannoli, came into our care with a displaced femoral fracture and two pelvic fractures. The injuries are severe, and the most humane, pain-relieving option to save their life is a leg amputation. The estimated cost is $1600.

No amount is too small. Whether you can give $5 or cover the cost of a dental extraction, every single dollar goes directly to their surgeries.
