In just about any dresser drawer, one can find a pair of eyeglasses that are no longer being used. That same pair of eyeglasses can change another person's life. Lions Recycle for Sight
That's why we started the Lions Recycle for Sight program. Throughout the year, Lions, Leos and other volunteers collect used eyeglasses and deliver them to regional Lions Eyegl
ass Recycling Centers (LERCs). LERC volunteers clean, sort by prescription strength and package the glasses. Most of the recycled glasses are distributed to people in need in developing countries where they will have the greatest impact. How You Can Help
If you have used eyeglasses you no longer need, you can donate them now. Lions accept prescription and reading glasses, sunglasses and plastic and metal frames. Children's glasses are especially needed. Here's how you can help. We have eye glasses drop off centers at the hospital and at Provigo or you can contact me here or by e mal (below) and i can pick them up!!! Every year the Lions Club puts on the annual Lions Club Telethone. The funds raised with this event goes towards the items needed to make our Christmas basket for those in need. This is one of The Lions Clubs biggest events and helps out many family's is the surrounding communities. Along with the donations from the telethone we also receive food, clothes, home made mitts,hats and toy and time donations from the local businesses, schools, the local people and many other organisations.
