Youth 4 A Change

Youth 4 A Change We are a group of young le***an, gay, bisexual, trans and q***r youth who want to make a difference in the lives of youth.

We educate ourselves and others through a variety of means:
• We offer workshops to schools, learning centres and other youth groups on topics such as: Homophobia and Transphobia (called What’s in it for the Homophobe?); Gender Identities; Youth Homelessness and Healthy Teen Relationships.
• We educate ourselves about LGBTQ history through documentaries, research and discussions
• We network with

other LGBTQ groups to further our knowledge about their activities both locally and internationally
• We participate in the training of youth and community workers
• We attend Pride and other festivals to spread the word about ourselves and the issues important to LGBTQ youth
• We train ourselves to be advocates, how to lobby politicians, how to make requests of Council and School Board
• We train the next generation of youth leaders, we have two Peer Leaders (youth from the group now taking more leadership)
• We flash mob
• We monitor School Board policy on Anti-Homophobia and Transphobia
• We participate in campaigns, such as Encourage City Hall to Fly the Pride Flag
• We do intergenerational work so that we learn from our elders and can inform them about our lives
• We do creative performances, express ourselves through art, poetry and spoken word
• We organize community events
• Our members take leadership roles in other organizations, such as Gay Straight Alliances in schools amongst others
• We go on field trips, often to Council Chambers
• We lobby for gender neutral facilities
• We support each other
• We have lots of fun

Living with Pride Foundation (LWP), www.livingwithpride.ca needs your help with a short Telehealth Survey for the community.
LWP is a non-profit focused on supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ seniors through inclusive housing, services, and community connection. One of the key initiatives underway is Nelly’s House, a future housing and community space in Vancouver designed to help q***r seniors age with dignity, belonging, and access to the supports they need. Alongside this, we’re participating in an NHS Solutions Lab, which is a national research and innovation program exploring new models of care, access, and community wellbeing — including how virtual and telehealth services can better serve people.
That’s where this survey comes in. We’re looking to better understand real experiences with telehealth — what’s working, what’s frustrating, and what could be improved. Your input genuinely helps shape how supports and services are designed going forward.
It only takes about 5–10 minutes, and responses are completely confidential.
If you’re able, please complete the survey by March 1st.
Thank you so much for taking a few minutes to share your thoughts. Every response really does make a difference.
With appreciation,
Rodney deJong and Eric Berthelet

It's our weekday Out and About walk tomorrow, and that means we'll get to enjoy Lights at Lafarge as we go! Join us for our second weekday walk, this Tuesday at 7pm. We meet outside the Praugery and usually go around the lake a couple of times while connecting with each other. Dress warm and cozy! If you're driving, please plan to come a little early as parking can be busy.
