Obituary for Mr Asok K Nandi
Mr. Asok Kr Nandi was born in Ramrajatola, to a very noble and talented family. After completing his schooling at the top of his class, he completed his undergraduate degree from City College, Kolkata with distinction. After graduation, he went on to complete a professional Chartered accountant in a prestigious accountancy firm. He thereafter moved to London to take up a role as a divisional accountant in a British account firm. After years of successful practice, he started his own private practice in London.
Throughout his life, he reached out and provided help to disadvantaged people in India and other countries. He was also a very active Rotarian, involved in many social upliftment programs. His contribution to communities here earned him lots of reputation, respect and prize.
His contribution to various cultural and social events, including our South London Durga puja festival, was immense. Through his contacts with distinguished members of the community, he was able to engage them in such events, and include diverse ethnic groups to participate in our programmes. He also helped many Indian students to find their footing in their careers
His journey to heavenly abode leaves us at a permanent loss and we pray for his soul rest in eternal peace.
