Yesterday, the Cannabis Substitution Program (CSP) Surrey provided low-barrier access to cannabinoid-based supports for 84 people.

That’s 84 opportunities to connect with individuals, reduce harm, offer support, and provide alternatives that may help people move away from more dangerous substances.

Every number represents a person. Every interaction matters.

As the toxic drug crisis continues to impact our communities, accessible, compassionate, and evidence-informed harm reduction services remain essential.

Thank you to everyone who makes this work possible and to the participants who continue to trust us with their journey.

💚 84 people served.
💚 84 lives supported.
💚 Harm reduction in action.

CSP Little Moments ❤️

Sometimes it’s the little moments that remind us why this work matters.

The Cannabis Substitution Project has never been about one person—it’s about community. It’s about people coming together, showing compassion, offering support, and believing that everyone deserves dignity, connection, and access to resources.

We are incredibly grateful for the amazing people who have supported us along the way. Whether you’ve volunteered, donated, shared our message, had a conversation, or simply shown up for someone in need, you have helped make these moments possible.

Real change happens when a community stands together. Every act of kindness creates a ripple effect, and we’re proud to be part of a community that continues to show up with heart, understanding, and hope.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. The little moments matter, and together they create something truly meaningful.

Last year, the Cannabis Substitution Project visited Langley City Council to present a proposal for a pilot program focused on low-barrier access to cannabinoids for medicinal use. On that day, all eight council members voted unanimously in favour of the motion — a strong sign that people are ready for compassionate, evidence-based alternatives.

Since then, however, there has been very little movement toward an actual plan of action or implementation.

Because of this, we will be gathering at Douglas Park in Langley on July 24 from 11 AM to 6 PM to continue raising awareness and pushing for accountability and progress.

We are hopeful that Mayor Nathan Pachal will attend. Joy Davies will also be speaking and sharing her decades of advocacy and lived experience in medical cannabis activism, a movement she has been involved in for over 30 years.

Throughout the event, we will be helping community members write and submit letters to the Premier and local municipalities in support of cannabis substitution programs and compassionate medical access.

This is about public health, harm reduction, compassion, and creating real alternatives for people struggling with pain, addiction, trauma, and barriers to care.

Cannabis saves lives — now it’s time for policy to catch up with reality.

Last week we made a post asking for water donations and unfortunately not one person responded. It was discouraging, especially knowing how many community members are struggling every single day in the heat without access to basic necessities like clean drinking water.

Many people experiencing homelessness are also living with mental health challenges, addictions, disabilities, chronic illness, or other health conditions that are worsened by dehydration and extreme temperatures. Water is not a luxury — it is a basic human need.

If every person who viewed this donated even $2–$5, we could fully stock up on water for the summer outreach season and ensure vulnerable community members have access to hydration during dangerous heat waves.

This is about community care, compassion, and harm reduction. Looking away does not make the crisis disappear. Small contributions from many people can make a real difference.

Thank You in Advance!
