Peter's Bus is one of the District A1 Lions' most cherished service projects.
Since 1986, this incredible program has provided transportation for campers of all ages who are visually impaired from Southwestern Ontario to CNIB Lake Joe in beautiful Muskoka. Thanks to this service, campers can enjoy an unforgettable, fully accessible summer camp experience without the challenge of travelling hundreds of kilometres on their own.
Founded by Lion Peter Best of the Windsor Downtown Lions Club, Peter's Bus continues to operate through the dedication of Lions Clubs across District A1. Each year, Lions work together to charter the bus, ensuring campers travel safely and comfortably to and from camp. Our Lions also help at the McDonalds breakfast stop, assisting campers on and off the the bus and delivering a yummy breakfast to them. THANKS TO ALL THE LIONS WHO CAME OUT YESTERDAY TO ASSIST.
It's more than just a bus ride—it's a journey that opens the door to friendship, independence, adventure, and memories that last a lifetime. 🦁
