Real learning is rarely tidy. It’s usually a bit messy, a little frustrating, and incredibly rewarding. 🛠️

In our studio, we don't rush to "fix" a learner's project when it gets difficult. We know that the struggle to figure it out is exactly where the brain grows most. We trade the comfort of a "right answer" for the thrill of a hard-won discovery.

Science tells us we only retain about 10% of what we hear—but we retain nearly 90% of what we actually do. At Acton Academy Stony Plain, we prioritize "Learning to Do" over "Learning to Listen."

Leadership isn't a title; it’s a muscle you build by helping others. 🛠️

In a traditional grade-level classroom, children are often competing for the same spot. In our mixed-age studio, the "older" learners naturally become Guides for the "younger" ones.

They learn patience, empathy, and how to communicate clearly, skills that stay with them long after they leave the studio.

We believe every child has the potential to be a leader. We just provide the space for them to practice.

Why do we assume children only learn best from people their exact same age? 🏔️

At Acton Academy Stony Plain, our studio brings different ages together. This "multi-age" approach allows older learners to step into leadership roles and younger learners to find mentors they can relate to.

It turns a group of students into a supportive community where everyone has something to teach and something to learn.

Is it sitting in a room with 30 people exactly your age, or is it learning how to navigate a community of diverse ages, skills, and perspectives? We believe the latter is what prepares a child for the real world.
