On June 21st, we recognized National Indigenous Peoples Day, a time to celebrate and honour the rich cultures, traditions, languages, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada.

This day reminds us of the importance of learning from Indigenous communities, building meaningful relationships, and continuing the journey toward reconciliation. By fostering understanding and respect, we can help create more welcoming and inclusive communities for everyone.

🇨🇦 Today, as part of Summer in the City in Steinbach, we had the pleasure of celebrating newcomers who have recently become Canadian citizens.

Becoming a Canadian citizen is an important milestone, representing dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to building a future in Canada. It was inspiring to gather together and recognize the achievements of individuals and families who contribute so much to our communities.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all new Canadian citizens. Your experiences, talents, and cultural diversity help make the Eastman Region a stronger, more vibrant, and more welcoming place for everyone.

Thank you to all our guests who joined us for this special celebration and to our guest speakers for sharing their thoughtful and inspiring messages. Your presence helped make the event truly memorable.

☀️ Summer in the City is officially underway in Steinbach!

On June 19, we were excited to celebrate the opening Summer in the City of the Cultural Stage with an evening filled with music, performances, and cultural sharing from the many communities that make Steinbach such a vibrant and welcoming place.

It was wonderful to see people come together to celebrate diversity, learn from one another, and enjoy the rich cultural traditions that strengthen our community.

A big thank you to everyone who participated, performed, volunteered, and attended. Your support helps create a more inclusive and welcoming region for all.

Be sure to get out and enjoy all that Summer in the City has to offer this weekend. There are plenty of activities, entertainment, and opportunities to connect with friends, family, and neighbours throughout the community!

This week we recognize and celebrate the strength, courage, and resilience of refugees who have rebuilt their lives and enriched our communities.

The Eastman region is proud to be a welcoming place where newcomers can find opportunities, support, and a sense of belonging. Through the collective efforts of community organizations, schools, municipalities, businesses, and residents, we continue to build stronger and more inclusive communities for everyone.

The Eastman Region Immigration Partnership (ERIP) is grateful to work alongside our partners to create a region where diversity is valued, inclusion is encouraged, and every newcomer has the opportunity to thrive.

The group explored strategies to make the learning process more accessible, inclusive, and adaptable to the unique needs of newcomer students and their families. Discussions focused on improving supports, enhancing communication, and identifying opportunities to foster successful integration and academic achievement.

Today, May 27, RRC Polytech and Eastman Immigrant Services proudly hosted the Open Door Event in Steinbach.

The event brought together representatives from different sectors (MANSO, SEED Winnipeg Inc. and other) to share knowledge, exchange experiences, and build strong partnerships that support our community and newcomers. It was a great opportunity for networking, collaboration, and meaningful conversations.

We sincerely thank everyone who attended and contributed to the success of this event. We look forward to continued cooperation and future community initiatives together!
