This is Vanilla, a 9-week-old Standard Poodle. She may be in foster care now, but one day she will play an essential role in the life of a Canadian living with a disability. Vanilla will grow up to assist her handler with the tasks they need to live more independently.

But she can only do that if we at Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides are here to train her and place her with someone in need.

Our new national Dog Guide training school is over 50 percent complete, but an unexpected 20-million-dollar shortfall has put construction on hold. Without urgent funding, the project could be stopped for good.

The RNC is seeking the assistance of the public in locating missing person, Tetiana Barabash of St. John’s, NL.

Barabash, 70, was last seen in the Blackmarsh Road area, wearing white pajamas with a floral print and carrying a black laptop bag. Barabash is described as being 5’2”, 143 lbs., with brown hair and green eyes.
