It is with profound sadness that we share the news that officials and emergency services have confirmed the passing of a cadet following the tragic bus accident that occurred yesterday in Sainte‑Rose‑de‑Watford, Quebec, transporting members of the Cadet Program to an activity.

Our hearts are with the cadet’s family, friends, and with all members of the cadet community who are mourning this deeply felt loss. We extend our sincere and heartfelt condolences during this incredibly difficult time.

Out of respect for the grieving family and all those affected, no further details will be shared at this time.

For those who feel moved to do so, we invite you to take a quiet moment of personal reflection in honour of those impacted. Thank you for your compassion, care, and understanding.

This month, we congratulate Acting Sub-Lieutenant Perry Bonnell on his retirement from the CAF and the Cadets Canada Organization. A/SLt Bonnell has been a valued member of our team and a constant source of entusiasm and positivity throughout our many operations. His departure will be sorely felt over the coming months, but we all wish him the very best and most enjoyable of transitions into retirement.

We wil share his final words of advice for the cadets of 514 Kinsmen Squadron: "Be kind, and be thankful". We are certainly thankful for everything you have done to support our program and Canada's youth!
