July 17th- July 20th 2026- ACC Squamish went on a mountaineering adventure to the incredible Jim Haberl Hut for five unforgettable days of scrambling, board games, good food and plenty of laughs.🏔️💙
☀️ Thursday kicked things off with a spectacular helicopter ride into the Tantalus Range. After settling into the hut, most of the group scrambled Serratus via the west face while others refreshed their crevasse rescue skills, setting themselves up for the days ahead.
☁️ Friday reminded us that mountain plans are always flexible. After a slow morning in the clouds, we explored toward the Serratus–Ionia Col. Although wet rock meant turning back from Iona, the mountains rewarded our patience with an evening weather window, allowing us to squeeze in a sunset scramble of Better Than Nothing before dinner.
🌧️ Saturday brought steady rain instead of wallowing in our bad luck, we embraced the downtime with long breakfasts, board games, cake, wine, and great conversations. Sometimes the best mountain memories happen inside the hut.
⛰️ Sunday delivered perfect alpine conditions. One team climbed Dionne via Le Petit Couloir, while the other tackled the impressive 600 m Alpha Northwest Ridge. Big objectives, incredible teamwork, and unforgettable views.
🚁 Monday: Helicopter out... and somehow back to work in time!
The Jim Haberl Hut exceeded every expectation, beautifully equipped, comfortable, and surrounded by some of the most breathtaking scenery in the Sea to Sky. It's hard to beat waking up to those views.
Trips like these are why our community is so special. Whether you're building technical skills, chasing alpine summits, or simply looking to spend a weekend with welcoming, like-minded people, there's a place for you here.
Thanks to everyone who made this trip such a memorable one. We can't wait for the next adventure!
