Sometimes, a simple conversation can make a big difference.

If you support a parent, relative or neighbour in your life who:
• Is 60 or older
• Rents their home
• Has an annual income under $40K

They may qualify for monthly rent assistance through the SAFER program.
A little extra support could help make rent more manageable and ease financial stress.

Share this with a caregiver or loved one who may benefit.

Every year on June 15, people around the world come together to recognize World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

It's a day to raise awareness and promote the safety and rights of older adults.

Over the next two weeks, we'll be sharing information, resources, stories, and ways you can get involved as we work together to raise awareness across British Columbia.

Are you a senior renting in BC? You may be eligible for monthly rent support through SAFER.

The program helps low- to moderate-income seniors aged 60+ make housing more affordable.

Check your eligibility and get an estimate on how much support you could receive at www.bchousing.org/SAFER.

May is Caregiver Awareness Month, a time to recognize the millions of caregivers across Canada who support family members, friends, and loved ones every day.

Caregiving is deeply important work, but it can also be emotionally and physically demanding. This year’s theme, Together in Caregiving, highlights the value of connection, shared support, and community.

Throughout the month, our partners at Family Caregivers of British Columbia are offering opportunities for caregivers to connect, access resources, and feel supported.

Visit the link in the comments to learn more about the ways to get involved throughout May and beyond.

Today we acknowledge Red Dress Day, a National Day of Remembrance and action honouring Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People.

The red dress represents lives lost, families forever changed, and the ongoing need for justice, safety, and accountability.

On Red Dress Day, we remember those who are missing.
We honour those who have been taken.
We stand with families, survivors, and communities calling for change.

May this day remind us to listen, learn, and keep working toward safety and dignity for all.
