Our Community Needs People Like You
The Slave Lake & District Chamber of Commerce would like to invite everyone in our community to join us for our upcoming Chamber Coffee Meeting:

Everyone is welcome, you do not need to be a Chamber member to attend.
We want to take this opportunity to have an important conversation about something affecting not only the Chamber, but organizations and events throughout our community.
Slave Lake is incredibly fortunate to have businesses, sponsors and community partners who step up year after year. Their generosity allows so many of the events and initiatives we love to happen.
But there is something sponsorship alone cannot provide: people.
Across our community, organizations are feeling the strain of having fewer volunteers and fewer people available to sit on boards, organize events and take on leadership roles. We understand why. People are busy. Families are busy. Work is demanding, and everyone has more competing for their time than ever before.
At the same time, we don't want to see longstanding community events disappear simply because there aren't enough hands to make them happen.
The Chamber is feeling that pressure too.
We need volunteers. We need board members. We need new ideas, new perspectives and people who want to be involved in shaping what happens in our community.
And getting involved doesn't have to mean taking on everything.
Maybe you've always wanted to help with an event.
Maybe you have an idea you'd love to see happen in Slave Lake.
Maybe you could volunteer a few hours here and there.
Maybe you'd consider joining our Board.
Or maybe you're simply curious about what the Chamber does and where you could fit in.
We would love to have you at the table.
Please join us on October 29 at The Fix. Come for a coffee, meet some people, hear what we're working on and bring your ideas. There is absolutely no obligation to sign up for anything, we'd simply love to start the conversation.
We also recognize that a 1:00 PM meeting doesn't work for everyone. If you're interested in becoming involved but can't attend during business hours, please reach out to us. We would be happy to meet or speak with you separately.
We currently meet once a month, and we are also open to moving future meetings to the evening if that makes it easier for more members of our community to participate.
Community events don't happen because of one organization or one person. They happen because people show up.
