🪶Economic Development Grant – Now Accepting Applications

Waterhen Lake First Nation Development Corporation is pleased to announce the Economic Development Grant, created to support and grow business and economic opportunities within our community.

This grant is highly competitive and applications will be evaluated based on community impact and planning. Only successful applicants will be contacted.

✨ Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be 18 years of age
• Must be a Waterhen Lake First Nation band member
• Must provide a Treaty Number
• Preference given to applicants with relevant work experience

📅 Important Dates:
🗓 Application Deadline: Tuesday, March 2, 2026 at 11:59 PM
🗣 Presentations to Adjudication Committee: Week of March 23–27, 2026
💰 Grant Allocation: April 6, 2026

Hello WLFN Membership,

This post is to notify you that the Referendum Vote that is scheduled for tomorrow September 18, 2024, is hereby cancelled until further notice. Through our completed Information sessions on the Designation, it became clear to Chief and Council that there is further need to engage and consult the membership regarding options and/or potential impacts of the Designation. As a result, a cancellation is necessary.

Chief and Council thanks those electors who have already voted, but with the cancellation these votes will be null and void.

Hello WLFN members;

We are actively recruiting for a 14 -week Carpentry, Plumbing and Electrical Lotus Program. Due to specific funding criteria, we are only accepting clients who are active social assistant clients or eligible SA clients. For details on eligibility contact Violet Fiddler or Alana Blackbird.

This program is a hands-on learning program working on a project at the Waters Edge Eco Lodge to build a Showerhouse! The deadline to apply is on July 23rd, 2024.
