This Thankful Tuesday we are saying thank you to the Stonewall Legion. They recently purchased a hygiene lift system that is already making a big difference at Rosewood Lodge. This specialized motorized mobility device is designed to safely transfer, transport, and support individuals with limited mobility during bathing, showering, and toileting routines. A big thank you to the Legion and the Poppy Fund for making this possible. Ken Power, Stonewall Legion Branch 52 recently visited Rosewood to see the lift and take a picture with some of the Rosewood Lodge team!

Happy Thanksgiving from the Interlake Eastern Health Foundation!

This Thanksgiving, and always, we’re grateful for the incredible community that continues to support health care close to home. From donors and volunteers to health-care teams, patients, families, and community partners, each of you plays an important role in making a difference.

Your generosity helps provide the equipment, programs, education, and resources that enhance care for people across the Interlake-Eastern region.

The McLeary Family Endowment Fund was established in 2019 to support programs that improve health in the community.

The 2026 disbursement from the fund along with a generous top up from Bob and Wendy will:

1. Support Health and Wellness contests in our community - providing incentive prizes for participation.
2. Provide support for youth smoking and va**ng cessation programs.
3. Provide memory and engagement programming for patient therapy. These purchases will help promote fine motor skills and stimulate cognitive engagement as well as providing additional opportunities for rehabilitation staff to engage with patients.

This Thankful Tuesday we are saying thank you for the long time support of the Selkirk Gift Shop Volunteers.

Did you know that every purchase made at the gift shop supports the hospital?

Since the beginning of 2026 the Gift Shop Volunteers have purchased an incredible $85,000+ in equipment for Selkirk Regional Health Centre and Transitional Care Unit. This has included a TV and halter monitor for cardiology, 3 Tilt wheelchairs, a variety of physio equipment, 2 dialysis chairs, 8 rocking chairs for obstetric patient rooms, a bladder scanner and more!

This incredible support means enhanced experiences for patients and making sure our staff teams have access to what they need to continue to provide exceptional care to patients and families.

Thank you to these amazing volunteers for the time and energy they invest in making a difference!

What a year for Interlake Eastern Health Foundation!

At our Annual General Meeting last week, we celebrated an incredible year of community support and investment, including:

🏥 More than $633,000 invested in healthcare — a 21% increase over the previous year, helping enhance care across our region.

🎟️ A new IERHA Staff Payday Payout 50/50 Raffle — another fun way for our community to support local healthcare.

💙 More than $33,000 raised through the IERHA $5 Club, showing how small monthly gifts can make a big difference.

🌱 A new Development Committee of the Board was established to help strengthen our fundraising efforts and build for the future.

📋 A new Strategic Plan was introduced, providing a clear direction for the Foundation and our work in the years ahead.

💰 More than $16,000 was granted from Endowment Funds, supporting healthcare priorities while honouring the generosity and vision of donors who established these funds.

We also welcomed new Board member Stephanie Jeffrey and said a heartfelt thank you and farewell to long-time Board member Brent Wynnyk for his years of service and commitment to the Foundation.

None of this is possible without our donors, volunteers, board members, healthcare partners and community supporters. Thank you for helping us continue to make a difference - Every Gift, Ever Person, Every Community.
