This evening, the Camp Stepping Stones team will welcome our 2026 campers!

Our hearts are full because we are once again overwhelmed by the generosity of our communities. Because of you, 40 grieving children will spend this weekend surrounded by care, compassion, and connection and know they are not alone.

There will be tears. There will be laughter. There will be new friendships and moments of healing—because no child should have to walk through grief alone.

Thank you for making this possible.

This Thankful Tuesday our gratitude is directed at our donors. Because of your generosity Rosewood Lodge in Stonewall is added some chirping, colour, and joy!

After the loss of Ozzy the cockatiel — a much-loved companion to residents and staff — there was a noticeable emptiness in the home. Wanting to bring that special companionship back, the recreation team worked with residents to explore different bird options, complete with the pros and cons of each.

The residents voted, and Rhondda (the blue budgie) and Harris (the green budgie) are now happily calling Rosewood home!

“They are adjusting well to their new home, are brightly coloured and quite chatty, and the residents are loving them,” shared Recreation Coordinator Shelly.

Thank you to our donors for investing in care and community!

We are officially one week away from Camp Stepping Stones - a grief camp for youth aged 7 - 14.

Because of the generosity of our communities, 40 grieving children will experience a safe supportive environment where they can share their grief, thoughts and feelings with peers who have also experienced the death of someone significant in their lives.

It's not too late to help, make a donation today - because no child should have to walk through grief alone. https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/99840

Thank you Stonewall Coop for helping Camp Stepping Stones!

Stonewall Coop was happy to donate reusable bags for each of the 40 campers attending Camp Stepping Stones this year. These bags will be used to hold all the items that they create and receive at camp so that everyone goes home with their belongings and (hopefully) the lost and found table is much smaller this year!

This Thankful Tuesday we are grateful for the generosity of Stonewall community member Irv Koch for helping make Rosewood Lodge feel even more like home.

When Irv learned that Rosewood was badly in need of new furniture for resident rooms he didn’t hesitate. Through his incredible $30,870 gift, resident rooms at Rosewood Lodge will receive new dressers and nightstands, replacing furniture that has served residents for more than 20 years and no longer meets current infection prevention and control standards.

For the residents who call Rosewood Lodge home, this is about much more than furniture. It’s about comfort, dignity, safety, and creating spaces that feel warm and welcoming for both residents and their families.

Mr. Koch continues to make a lasting impact in the Stonewall community, including previously funding the Sunshine and Peace Patio for the palliative care space at Stonewall Hospital. His generosity is helping ensure local care spaces remain compassionate, comfortable, and community-focused.
