Today we celebrate the people who help make Selkirk what it is. 💙

October 1 is National Seniors Day - a day to recognize and celebrate the contributions of older adults in our communities.

Older adults contribute to Selkirk in countless ways - as volunteers, neighbors, mentors, caregivers, employees, business owners, family members, community leaders and so much more.

Today, we celebrate you.

🎉 OCTOBER IS AGE FRIENDLY MONTH IN SELKIRK!

We're so excited to announce that in partnership with the City of Selkirk, October 2026 has been proclaimed as Age Friendly Month, recognizing the important contributions older adults make to our community and celebrating the value of creating a community where everyone can live, participate and thrive.

An age-friendly Selkirk is a community where people can:

💙 Feel connected
🚶 Move safely and independently
🌳 Enjoy community spaces
🤝 Participate and stay involved
💬 Access services and information
❤️ Feel valued, respected and included

And here's the important part:
