Canada’s Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) provides essential healthcare coverage to refugees—people who have already faced unimaginable hardship and are trying to rebuild their lives in safety.

If this support is reduced or removed, it won’t just be a policy change—it will directly impact access to basic medical care for some of the most vulnerable individuals in our communities. Healthcare is not a privilege; it’s a human necessity.

We need to raise our voices and stand for compassion, dignity, and fairness. Refugees deserve access to healthcare while they find their footing and contribute to our society.

I urge our leaders to reconsider any cuts to IFHP and protect this critical support system.

Let’s speak up. Let’s stand together.

The Center for Peace Canada continues its important mission of providing guidance and support to refugees as they integrate into communities across Ontario. With the collaboration of several Canadian organizations, dedicated lawyers, and local government bodies, we are working together to create pathways of hope, dignity, and opportunity for newcomers.

We are proud to share that we have recently joined hands with Amnesty International, strengthening our shared commitment to protecting human rights and advocating for vulnerable communities.

Recently in Toronto, Senior Human Rights Activist Mary Galeis and Director Dr. AMM Fahath led an inspiring discussion on refugee rights, community integration, and the collective responsibility we share in building inclusive societies. The dialogue highlighted the importance of legal support, policy advocacy, and grassroots community engagement.

Together, we are fostering compassion, justice, and unity — ensuring that every refugee has the opportunity to thrive in Canada.

🤝 Let’s continue to stand for peace, human rights, and stronger communities for all.

This campaign wouldn’t be growing the way it is without the incredible support and solidarity we have been receiving from over 180 organizations. From resharing our social media posts, creating your own, to spreading the word to your colleagues and communities, this campaign is proof that we *are* better together.

This is only the beginning.

Remembrance Day is commemorated on November 11th each year in Canada and marks the ceasefire on the Western Front in World War I in 1918. The armistice (peace agreement) between the Allies and Germany at Compiègne, France took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning—the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.

On Remembrance Day, Canadians pause to honour those who have served and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict and peace.

Monday, November 10th is a PD day for all Regina Public schools. All schools and Division Office will be closed on Tuesday, November 11th for Remembrance Day so students will not return to classes until Wednesday, November 12th.

All flags in the Regina Public School Division will fly at half-mast for Indigenous Veterans Day and Remembrance Day.

🧡 Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we remember the children who never returned home and honour the survivors of residential schools, along with their families.

The Indigenous communities in the Lethbridge area inspire us with their strength and resilience. Their stories are not only history — they are lived realities that continue to shape our community today.

May we walk toward reconciliation with respect, gratitude, and a commitment to stronger relationships.
