Rooted in Nature Stewardship Society is excited to share our upcoming 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗵𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 & 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗗𝗮𝘆, happening Monday, August 24 at Pend d’Oreille River Ranch & Regenerative Farm.

Youth ages 𝟴–𝟭𝟮 will spend the day outdoors with 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 of Kootenay Rites of Passage and 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮 𝗙𝗼𝘅 of Elemental Journeys. Activities may include swimming, nature games, orienteering, compass skills, whittling, knots, fire-making, shelter building, plant identification and nature stewardship.

Presented by 𝗥𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆, this hands-on Bushcraft & Nature Stewardship Day will give local youth the opportunity to build practical wilderness skills, connect deeply with nature, and learn about caring for the land.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, including funding from 𝗞𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 and the 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗗𝗶 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺. Rooted in Nature Stewardship Society is excited to offer a hands-on outdoor day for youth ages 𝟴–𝟭𝟮, hosted at 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗱’𝗢𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵 & 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺.

Led by 𝗧𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 of 𝗞𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘆 𝗥𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 and 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮 𝗙𝗼𝘅 of 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆𝘀, youth will spend the day building practical bushcraft skills, strengthening their connection to nature, and learning about stewardship and respect for the land.

Tanin is an outdoor educator and rites-of-passage facilitator with more than 10 years of experience mentoring youth in the Kootenays. He has facilitated outdoor nature programs, rites-of-passage experiences, one-on-one behavioural support, and youth music workshops. Tanin is passionate about helping young people discover their gifts while strengthening their confidence, creativity, curiosity, and connection to the natural world.

𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮 𝗙𝗼𝘅 — 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆𝘀

Andrea is a certified nature-based therapist, environmental activist, outdoor educator, and wilderness guide who brings curiosity and play to every exploration. Through Elemental Journeys, Andrea offers youth programs, ancestral-skills workshops, old-growth backcountry explorations, adult mindfulness retreats, and one-on-one counselling in the Nelson area.

We’re excited to welcome families to a gentle day of nature, stewardship, farming, and outdoor exploration at Pend d’Oreille River Ranch & Regenerative Farm.

Designed for children ages 2–7 and their families, this special day will encourage curiosity, connection, kindness, and a love of the natural world through hands-on experiences and unstructured outdoor play.
