🌟 Member of the Month: Larry!

This month, we’re pleased to highlight Larry, a valued member of the Charlotte County Time Bank!

Larry joined the Time Bank to connect with others, share his knowledge, and embrace the benefits of a community built on helping one another. With his expertise in horology, including clock adjustments and advice, Larry offers a unique skill to our membership.

His story also highlights something special about time banking: exchanges can lead to meaningful connections and lasting friendships.

Here is Larry’s story, in his own words:

“I have been asked to speak to my reason for joining time bank and about my favorite exchange.

First, I joined the Charlotte County Time Bank as a result of an invitation from a Time Bank member. Realistically, I am a person who, as a rule, does not ask for help. I have never been, unless it is something I just cannot do by myself. Contrarily, I have always been happy to offer myself to those who need help or a hand with anything that I am able to help them with.

However, I have reached that (age) and time in my life where it has come time for me to reach out to others for help with some of my tasks. For this reason, when the model and benefits of the Time Bank were explained to me, I felt this just might be a good fit for me and, as well, a way to meet new people and help provide something that might be useful to others.

My favorite exchange: For those unfamiliar with the skill I offer to the Time Bank membership, I offer my knowledge of Horology, or precisely Clock Adjustments and advice.

I would say this task, although not a TB exchange, but a reference from someone who had viewed a Time Bank post, was one of my favorites. I had the opportunity to bring to life a beautiful Grandfather clock that had been acquired by a local couple some 40 years ago, but had never been assembled or put to its intended use.

I recently, as a Time Bank exchange request, traveled to Saint John Airport (accompanied by my brother), to pick up a couple of nice young men who had traveled all the way from Morocco to take up positions at the Ganong Factory.

In spite of our language differences and the use of electronic translation devices, my brother and I have established an ongoing friendship with them in our efforts to familiarize them with the community.

This could very well be my favorite Time Bank exchange.”

This Thanksgiving, we are especially thankful for our PSWs.

Holidays don't mean that the need for care stops. This Thanksgiving weekend, many of our homecare Personal Support Workers will be away from their own families for part of the holiday so they can be there for our clients.

Also, our volunteer Meals on Wheels delivery drivers and cooks will be providing their usual excellent service throughout the weekend.

That commitment deserves to be recognized.

To every member of our team working this weekend, thank you for the compassion, kindness and dedication you bring into people's homes every day. We appreciate you, and we hope you know how important the work you do truly is.

💗 $462,000 RAISED. CHARLOTTE COUNTY, YOU DID IT! 💗

What an INCREDIBLE day! From 7 AM to 7 PM, our community came together for the 13th Annual Charlotte FM Radiothon in support of the Charlotte County Hospital Foundation, and the results have left us speechless.

Together, we raised an extraordinary $462,000! 🎉

And we're beyond excited to share that we will be ordering our new 3D mammography machine! 💗

This is more than just a fundraising milestone. It's an investment in the health and well-being of our community, bringing advanced breast imaging technology closer to home for the women and families of Charlotte County.

To every single person who donated, stopped by, shared our message, answered phones, volunteered, or helped spread the word, THANK YOU.

A heartfelt thank you to Mark Downey, the entire team at 98.1 Charlotte FM, our incredible volunteers, the Charlotte County Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, our local businesses, organizations, and every community member who helped make today possible.

For 13 years, this Radiothon has shown us what makes Charlotte County so special. Today was another incredible reminder of the generosity, kindness, and community spirit that surrounds us.

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU, Charlotte County. Because of you, we're making a difference in healthcare, close to home. 💗

We're happy to announce that we are partnering with the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick who will be offering new in-person connection points in Charlotte County, including our location at 252 King Street, St. Stephen!

These in-person meetings are intended for persons living with dementia, their caregivers, or friends and families.

In-Person First Link® Appointments

The Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick will be offering 1:1 in-person appointments for our First Link® program, with monthly options in St. Stephen and St. Andrews.

St. Andrews appointments:
