Thank you, NB Children’s Foundation!

We are very grateful to the for their ongoing support of Shining Horizons.

As one of our earliest supporters and donors, the Foundation has been part of our journey for many years. Their belief in our work has helped us provide meaningful programs and opportunities for children and youth living with physical, developmental, emotional, or mental health challenges.

Over the years, Shining Horizons has grown beyond our roots in Therapeutic Riding. While therapeutic riding remains an important part of what we do, our services have expanded to include licensed-therapist-led Equine-Assisted Therapy, supporting children and youth with a range of needs through professionally guided, nature- and unmounted equine-assisted programs.

We are especially thankful to the New Brunswick Children’s Foundation for believing in the importance of accessible programming for young people and for continuing to stand behind our work.

Thank you for being part of the Shining Horizons journey and for helping us make a difference in the lives of children and youth in our community!

Learning beyond the classroom, and beyond the arena!

As part of our unmounted Neurodiverse Program, our participants this week had the opportunity to meet some very important members of the Shining Horizons community, our bees!

As an extra-curricular element of the program, participants visited the beehives, learned how a hive works, and got a closer look at the incredible world of bees. They discovered just how important bees are to our environment and the role they play in pollinating plants and helping keep our natural world healthy.

For our participants, experiences like this are about more than simply learning facts. They provide opportunities to explore, ask questions, work together, engage their senses, and build confidence in a safe and supportive environment.

And, of course, there is something pretty special about learning about nature while being surrounded by it.

At Shining Horizons, we believe learning can happen in many different ways, sometimes with a horse, sometimes in a garden, and sometimes beside a beehive.

Shining Horizons is pleased to announce that Nathalie Cecire has successfully completed all phases of the CanTRA certification process and is now a certified CanTRA BI-2 Instructor.

CanTRA stands for the Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association, a national organization dedicated to promoting safe, effective and quality therapeutic riding through education, certification and professional standards.

We are very happy to welcome Nathalie to our team of certified instructors. Her achievement is another important step in Shining Horizons’ commitment to providing safe, professional and high-quality therapeutic riding services to the people we serve.

A HUGE THANK YOU!

What a wonderful evening we had on Friday, September 11! We want to take a moment to thank everyone who helped make our fundraiser such a success.

First and foremost, thank you to all of our guests for joining us, supporting Shining Horizons, and getting into the spirit of the evening. Your enthusiasm during the live and silent auctions made a real difference. Every bid helped us raise funds for our Participant Financial Relief Fund, helping ensure that financial circumstances don’t prevent people from accessing our programs.

A very special thank you to our donors and sponsors for their generous support. We were especially grateful to and Walsh Luggage, whose contributions created one of the main auction highlights of the evening.

WestJet generously donated a flight for two to any WestJet destination, and this auction item generated an incredible $3,100 for our Participant Financial Relief Fund!

And to make the trip complete, Walsh Luggage donated a luxury Samsonite carry-on, making this an even more special travel package for the lucky winner. Thank you for helping turn a great auction item into an unforgettable getaway!

We’re very happy to share that our fundraiser has currently raised $17,500!

A heartfelt thank you also goes to our amazing volunteers, who helped with everything from setting up and decorating to the auctions, 50/50, guest support, and all the many details behind the scenes.

A little heads-up for tonight!

We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Shining Horizons Fundraising Gala this evening!

Although we’re three weeks earlier than last year, the arena can still be a little cool, and our sandy arena floor isn’t the best match for light-coloured shoes.

Check out the tips in the poster, dress comfortably, and come ready for a wonderful evening of food, music, inspiring stories, auctions and good company.

Our Shining Horizons Fundraising Gala is coming up on September 11th, and we still have seats available.

This isn’t just an evening of great food, music, auctions and fun. It’s an important night for Shining Horizons, and for the people and families who rely on our programs.

Our mission is simple: to create opportunities for people of all abilities to grow, connect, build confidence and experience a greater sense of independence and belonging.

Through therapeutic riding and equine-assisted therapy programs, we work with children, youth and adults facing physical, cognitive, emotional and social challenges. When government funding is not available or does not cover the full cost of participation, our Participant Financial Relief Fund helps ensure that families are not left without access to these important programs simply because they cannot afford the cost.

Your support helps make that possible. It helps us keep our programs accessible, reach more people, and continue creating meaningful experiences that can make a lasting difference.
